Octopus on an Oyster?#ceviche #seafood #octopus

this is ceviche I’m going to put it on the oyster and I’m going to let you know what I think now the only Ceviche that I’ve ever had is actually made with shrimp but a lot of people told me to make octopus CBJ so I got some octopus tentacles and you don’t eat them wrong I guess you got to boil them first I boiled these on a light boil for about 35 minutes until they were fork tender and then quickly cooled them off in an ice bath once they were forked tender they were super easy to chop up so I chopped those up also got some Tomatoes too and I diced those up and the last thing was onion a red onion of course as well I also put in a Sr of pepper and some cilantro too and last I went ahead and added the juice of about six or seven limes now I just kind of mix it up and let it sit for maybe 20 minutes or so and then spoon it on this Hog Island Oyster I gave this thing A Taste in the west coast oyster which is kind of cucumber went really well with this octopus I’ve never had octopus before this and I thought it tasted a lot like a scallop and honestly there was like almost like an almond flavor to it and it paired perfectly with this West Coast oyster

  1. The first time I ever had octopus was at a sushi restaurant in Canada when me and my ex-girlfriend were up there gambling and they asked everybody if they wanted to try a piece of live octopus and literally chopped it up live and served the pieces of the tentacles and you dipped it in your soy sauce swallowed it and you could feel it still when it went down your throat I'd have to say the flavor was good the texture was a bit rubbery but the weirdest part was it feeling it move as you swallowed it down your throat

  2. Man you just got me excited for summer. Going to have to try this one out! Looking forward to the content coming 🍻🍻

  4. Octopus is one of my favorite foods! You should try more octopus recipes. I always order it if I see it on a menu.

  5. You can make ceviche with any fresh fish. White fish, shrimp and octopus 🐙 make a nice combination. I’ve also eaten conch ceviche in the Bahamas.

  6. Still good to cook it even though obviously you can and should use lime to cook it if you have the time and means. Still most people don’t have access to raw octopus, so it being fully cooked is more common than not. I feel like octopus is always yummy and welcome in ceviche even if it’s precooked or raw
