Korean Spicy Beef Burrito 🌯
Korean Spicy Beef:
-1 lb beef round steak, cut into strips
-1/3 cup cornstarch
-1/4 cup soy sauce
-3 tbs rice vinegar or mirin
-2 tbs white sugar
-1 tbs sesame oil
-2 tsp Gochugaru (Korean chili flakes)
-2 tsp white pepper
-1 tsp red chili flakes
-1 tsp sesame seeds
-1/2 tsp MSG (optional)
-2 tbs neutral oil for cooking
Filling:
-French fries
-green salad mix
-red onion, thinly sliced
-homemade sesame vinaigrette (optional)
-sesame seed
Sauce:
-1/3 cup mayonnaise
-1 tbs Gochujang (red pepper paste)
-1 tbs honey
Instructions:
-in a large bowl, add the beef, soy sauce, rice vinegar/mirin, sesame oil, red chili flakes, Gochugaru, white pepper, sesame seed, MSG, sugar, and cornstarch
-mix well until the beef is fully coated
-marinate in fridge for at least 1 hour up to overnight
-in the meantime, prepare the sauce and filling
-when ready to cook the beef, remove from fridge and allow to sit at room temp for 20 minutes
-set a nonstick pan on high heat and add oil
-cook the beef in batches, searing and stir frying for 5-7 minutes until brown
-heat up the tortilla in the microwave for 10 seconds
-add sauce onto the tortilla, followed by beef and other filling
-wrap the burrito tightly and cut in half
-enjoy!
