Dodging beef in Vietnam! (Bò né)
I’ve made this dish a couple of times at home but the taste doesn’t compare to one eaten in Vietnam sitting on plastic stools next to a busy road. Bò né directly translates to dodging beef because you have to dodge the hot oil splatters as your plate comes to you sizzling hot. It’s one of my favourite breakfasts in Vietnam and you get a plate full of marinated sliced beef, an egg, pâté, onions, a sausage, and lots of savoury sauce to dip your bánh mì in for under $4 (75k VND). The dish also comes with tomatoes and lettuce and you add in soy sauce and hot sauce before you dig in.
