Salve! Siamo Marco e Laura
Five years ago, we opened La Bruschetta Pizza & Snack 1.0, a lovely tiny pizzeria by the seaside located in Portimão, Algarve, Portugal.
Marco and I have been companions in adventures for more than 14 years, and among other things, we share a passion for Good Italian Cuisine.
Marco has roots from Puglia and Campania (province of Naples), while I, Laura, have Sicilian origins.
In 2018 we decided to move to Portugal looking for new experiences.
Marco has over 15 years of experience as a pizza chef, working with both wood-fired and electric ovens.
My background, on the other hand, is scientific in the field of health, but since ‘good food is the first medicine,’ the transition from pharmacy to the kitchen was quick!
Finally, we had found the little shop that was right for us! Ten days after signing the contract, the FIRST WAVE of COVID arrives, and all activities are closed! Not an insignificant detail… we had paid a year’s rent in advance, a necessary condition for securing the chosen shop.
We were allowed to open only 4 months after signing the contract… but we survived!!
After 3 years we succeed to move in a bigger place 100 meters further and we opened La Bruschetta Pizza & Snack 2.0
Italy and Italian cuisine, experienced as Italians abroad, have brought us much satisfaction. Italian cuisine, and pizza in particular, is highly appreciated worldwide.
By opening our business abroad, we encounter rewarding situations every day where our customers show admiration and interest in the food and culture of our country.
Italian cuisine is often associated with moments of sharing and togetherness. Preparing and sharing traditional dishes creates special occasions and bonds.
We think that the joy of cooking and the love for Italian cuisine should be accessible to all!
