Hello, we’re JS. Today’s video shows us strolling through Taipei’s Ximending shopping district. A wonderful day of exploring. Ximending is a popular shopping district brimming with youth, vitality, and a sense of history. It’s home to our favorite local delicacies, quality shops, and iconic attractions. We wanted to share these leisurely moments with everyone. So we edited this video to capture the essence of life. We hope you’ll enjoy the experience and relax to the end. Tourists taking the MRT to Ximen Station No. 6 You can reach Taipei’s Ximending shopping district right from the station. Walk map information will be provided in the description section below. Okay, let’s begin our journey through Taipei’s Ximending! The sky in Taipei is so blue today, so relaxing. I want to take S to explore the popular food in Ximending. I also want to relive the wonderful flavors of my youth. Yongfu Fish Balls is a 40-year-old local restaurant. Famous for their handmade fish balls and traditional snacks. Fish ball shops are busy in the morning. Because many Taiwanese people enjoy it for breakfast. A wonderful combination of soup and noodles. The fish ball’s skin is chewy and firm. The broth and meaty aroma are released when you bite into it. The meat-filled buns have a rich, savory flavor. The half-cooked egg yolk oozes out after being cut. Mixed with the braised pork and noodles The overall texture is smoother and the flavor is richer. The noodles are chewy and springy, and the braised pork is salty and flavorful. Immerse yourself in the delicious flavors of tradition. Next to the fish ball shop is the popular Ximen Noodle Shop. Over 60 years in the local business. Open 24 hours a day. Crowds gather from morning to night. The most popular dish is the hearty pork trotter. The braised pork trotters are incredibly tender and melt in your mouth. The rich, savory sauce and the salty, fragrant marinade are truly captivating. The most amazing thing is… Mooncakes, egg tarts, and egg yolk pastries—you can buy them all here! The staff warmly invited us to try the coffee. A perfect Taiwanese souvenir. We strolled to Chengdu Road, following the aroma of coffee. Feng Da Coffee, founded in 1956. A long-established Western-style coffee shop in Ximending. And I’m always drawn to the peach cakes at the entrance. The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans And the classic siphon coffee brewing method These are all elements that keep guests captivated. Luckily, there’s still a table! You can enjoy coffee with everyone. The window seat is filled with sunlight and is very comfortable. While S was still researching the menu, I saw everyone ordered the breakfast set. We were also interested. Various coffee and beverage options A classic, old-school Western breakfast combo The ham and eggs look like a happy, smiling face An earthy, familiar, savory flavor Colombian coffee offers a balanced acidity and sweetness Clean, mellow flavor, and a full mouthfeel A beautiful morning begins with coffee. The slightly thick toast is toasted to a crispy and fluffy texture. Evenly spread the strawberry jam and cream. The warm toast exudes a blissful aroma in your hands. A taste bud experience filled with salty, sweet, bitter, and sour flavors. A delightful coffee time! I continued my stroll with this sense of satisfaction. I remembered a unique restaurant nearby. It has a rich sense of nostalgia and modernity. Zhou Zhaozi combines traditional Taiwanese congee and side dishes with teppanyaki. You can smell the teppanyaki aroma right at the door. S was drawn to the porridge and side dishes on the menu. Three-cup chicken, pan-fried pork liver, sweet potato pancakes—you can order them all here! Zhou Zhaozi is named after the owner’s grandmother. The restaurant focuses on the flavors and memories of her grandmother. Cleverly integrates the shared memories of early Taiwanese people. Sweet potato porridge and congee side dishes are integrated into the buffet. The sweet aroma of the sweet potato porridge wafts through the air with the steam. So heartwarming! S expertly adds the salted egg yolk to the rice porridge. The combination with the sweet potato creates a rich, salty, sweet, and fragrant flavor. Unlike your typical pan-fried pork liver, this dish is complemented by a special sauce. The salty, sweet, and tangy sauce is delicious! Order the oysters. Just watching them being fried makes you hungry. The oysters are tender and rich in flavor. I ordered a Prime short rib for myself for my birthday. The steak sizzles on the grill, and the aroma fills my nostrils. A hearty set meal. The steak is richly marbled and lightly charred on the outside after being grilled on the sizzling griddle. The interior is tender and juicy, with a rich meaty aroma. Add a main course for NT$90 and you’ll get shrimp balls, a medium roll, and plenty of onions. Yes, plenty of onions! The three-cup flavor brings out the freshness of the shrimp balls and the midori. I accidentally filled the whole table. Grandma’s pan-fried pork liver is truly delicious! Freshly squeezed sugarcane juice A subtly sweet and beautiful experience Finally, let’s use sweet potato pancakes as birthday cake! Ice cream and sweet potato chips go really well together. One bite of sweet potato pancake brought back childhood memories. We shared this delicious treat like little kids. The taste of my grandma’s homemade dishes is so fresh and fresh! Continue strolling and exploring with the group. The donut shop at the intersection is already packed with people. The crispy, golden doughnuts are irresistible. Enter the Wannian Department Store Food Court. There’s a beef noodle restaurant that’s been selected by the Michelin Bib Gourmand for eight consecutive years. Lao Shandong Beef Noodles is famous for its handmade homemade noodles. The beef broth is rich and mellow with a hint of soy sauce. The biggest feature is the width of the handmade homemade noodles. S couldn’t resist the traditional beef noodles. The homemade beef noodles are served. The beef chunks were tender and flavorful. The broth, rich in the aroma of soy sauce, was truly memorable. We were still stunned by the width of the noodles. The noodles were thick and chewy, with a firm, springy texture. The beef chunks, with a hint of beef tendon, were delicious. An amazing local delicacy! I walked out of the shop and saw a huge line. One of them was the tapioca pearl ice cream shop, which was made for frog eggs. And the one with the longest line was Jinyuan Spare Ribs. A well-known shop founded in the 1960s. It’s also one of my youthful memories. Each piece of freshly fried pork ribs is carefully pounded and marinated by the owner. A must-try black vinegar sauce for crispy ribs. The skin is crispy, and the meat is firm and plump. The aroma of black pepper is truly captivating. Every bite is a delicious memory! Everyone was immersed in the aroma of spare ribs. Now we need to digest it by strolling around the neighborhood. I accidentally passed by Tiantianli, where there’s always a line. Recommended by “”500 Bowls”” Today, let’s try some forgotten flavors. Looking at the griddle piled high with oyster omelets and radish cakes The aroma lingered in the air. S discovered that takeout is a shortcut to delicious food. I took out a portion of radish cake in a reusable lunch box. It looked incredibly delicious. The sweetness of radish and the aroma of shallots The sauce is the soul of radish cake.

A delicious combination of salty, sweet, sour, and fragrant. Amazing street food! Walking into Lane 76, Section 1, Zhonghua Road Discovered a quality coffee shop FabCafe has many branches in Japan A space that combines cafe, cultural and creative, and digital manufacturing concepts Since I’m here, I decided to explore. The entire café is filled with design details. The coffee brewing method is also very interesting. It’s a pleasure to stop by here for a short afternoon break. The bubbles in the iced Americano are truly captivating. Made with ice shakes. The top layer has a dense foam. A refreshing, clean feeling upon entering the mouth. A wonderful and happy time. Out of the alley, I saw two bakeries. Hong Kong Kee Su Huang was recommended by “”500 Sweets.”” Most products are Halal certified. Famous for its pastries, especially its Emerald Green Bean Cake. It has a smooth, creamy texture and melts in your mouth. A bit too sweet for our taste. Ruyitang Bakery specializes in sun cakes. They have also collaborated with internationally renowned chef Albert Chiang on a sun cake. French King Sun Cake Ruyitang has won the Sun Cake Championship for five times. S walked into the shop curiously to explore. Upon entering, he was treated to coffee and tea. They also offer a variety of sun cake flavors. The staff meticulously explained the flavors and characteristics of each cake. The slightly sweet malt sugar of the Sun Cake has a hint of saltiness. The lingering aroma of Tieguanyin tea is truly captivating. It also makes a great Taiwanese souvenir! On to the next foodie spot. Cheng Weizhen Pasta, a long-standing Tainan pasta and braised food shop. It’s also a part of my youthful memories. The abundance of braised flavors is a major feature. Today I chose kelp and dried soybeans. Served with a bowl of dry pasta The marinade is thoroughly flavored, with a strong flavor. Full of savory and salty marinade. Pasta topped with plenty of marinated meat. Stir thoroughly. The noodles were chewy and full of flavor. A wonderful blend of savory and fragrant flavors. Walked back to Hankou Street to continue exploring. The Ximen Red House is a century-old landmark. Now a center for cultural, creative, and arts activities. Walking across the street to Lane 27, Chengdu Road I’m seeing more and more delicious food here. Do you have any recommendations? Feel free to leave a comment and share your thoughts. The area in front of Xingfutang is one of our favorites. There are always many tourists here. Xingfutang is famous for its hand-fried brown sugar pearl milk tea. A sweet aroma permeates the air. In addition to brown sugar pearl milk tea, they also offer xiaolongbao (steamed dumplings). This employee is full of friendly energy. The process of making brown sugar pearls from scratch is really interesting. The xiaolongbao look really plump. The line at Ah Zong Noodles is still long. In the alleys, we discovered Yulin Chicken Leg King. Once featured on “”500 Bowls”” Let’s try the delicious fried chicken legs now. Everyone starts with a bowl of soup. S expertly fills the soup. The umami-filled bamboo shoot soup has a slightly sweet flavor. The chicken drumsticks are fried to order and look golden and crispy. The huge drumsticks are a little hard to pick up. The meat is tender and juicy, and the marinade is fragrant. This is a classic Taiwanese fried chicken drumstick. A traditional delicacy you’ll miss! I’m so glad I had a wonderful time here.
