【超穴場】大分•日田旅行1泊2日♨︎九州の小京都の温泉宿と絶品グルメが最高すぎた…
Hello, this is Koya. I am currently in Hita City, Oita Prefecture This time, I would like to take you on a two-day, one-night trip to fully enjoy the Hita area Of course, I went sightseeing, but my favorite hot spring inn, “Umehibiki,” where I stayed before, has just reopened after renovation so I can highly recommend it in Kyushu The reborn Umehibiki I’ll give you plenty So let’s go. The river that spreads out before us is the Mikuma River, a large river that flows through Hita City I live in Fukuoka city, and today I came to Hita city from Fukuoka, taking about an hour Hita city is in Oita prefecture, but it is on the border between Fukuoka and Kumamoto prefectures I think it’s easier to access from Fukuoka city than from Oita city So it’s an easy place to visit, even on a day trip from Fukuoka city Isn’t the flow of the river so beautiful? Hita is also famous for its clean water, as it has a nationally famous water called Hita Tenryosui The current is fast, but the rocks below are clearly visible This is nice On this side, you can see a beautiful stream of water splashing over the rocks Now I’m here in mid-summer, July Hita is a basin and is famous as a hot place that records the highest temperatures in the country However, it is cloudy at this time of day today, and it feels very cool to be near the river It’s nice to take a walk along the river There are several hot spring inns lined up along the Mikuma River on the left side of the river The large building you see in front of you is a guesthouse called “Caffel Hinanosato” where I have stayed before This is a very good value accommodation, so please check out this video You can also spend your time relaxing at a hot spring inn along the river There are several boats like houseboats parked on the riverbank There are also tours where you can dine on a houseboat, although this is seasonal and on limited dates I walked from the right Hita has some delicious delicacies, one of which is grilled sweetfish The river is right there, so I’m sure you can get a delicious sweetfish set meal at a restaurant here The store is closed today As you step in from the riverside, you can see the “Caffel Hinanosato” on your right On the left is “Soba Manju”… a Japanese sweets shop? The atmosphere is like that of a hot spring town There aren’t that many inns The inn on the right, “Kizan tei,” is also quite famous From what I could find online, this place seemed to be of high quality As I said before, Hita seems like a great place to come and relax from Fukuoka Now, I’ve just come from Fukuoka and it’s almost lunchtime Hita cuisine is all about “Hita Yakisoba” I think I’ll get it soon I’ve been to a few Yakisoba restaurants in Hita, but this is my favorite This is “Mikuma Restaurant.” Their Hita yakisoba is delicious The menu looks like this I came here to eat Hita yakisoba, so I’ll eat the one on the right The ramen is also delicious There is also a lunch set like this, so if you want to eat hearty food, this might be a good option This soup comes with the yakisoba This is very delicious. Let’s start with this Let’s eat this first This is the best! The cloudy soup has a light pork bone soup flavor It has just the right amount of saltiness and contains wood ear mushrooms The crunchy texture and the gentle tonkotsu flavor spread throughout your mouth This goes really well with yakisoba Like the yakisoba, I want to come back and drink this soup again It’s that delicious! And then the yakisoba arrived This is very delicious Hita yakisoba is characterized by its generous servings of meat, green onions, chives, and bean sprouts Looks delicious! Let’s eat! This is it! The noodles are cooked to be crispier than regular yakisoba, so you can enjoy the unique crunchy texture The crunchy texture of the meat and bean sprouts is superb, and the seasoning is not just excellent, but also Chinese-style, bringing out the original flavor of the noodles I prefer this Hita yakisoba to regular yakisoba Sometimes I get a sudden craving It’s delicious! I’m going to eat yakisoba for lunch and then go to Mameda-cho, a famous shopping street It is such a famous spot that no one would miss visiting it when it comes to sightseeing in Hita I am heading to Mameda town now The roads around here are also very nicely paved, and the townscape is very nice Arrived I was thinking about where to park, and I found out that there is a free parking lot called Mameda Nishi Parking Lot in an area that is being developed as a tourist spot The Mameda Nishi Parking Lot is a little further away, and the place where I actually parked is called “Municipal Minatomachi Parking Lot.” Even though today is a weekday, it doesn’t feel that busy Nowadays, wherever you go in the country, it’s crowded with inbound tourists, so this is a nice little hidden gem Right in front of the shop is Hita’s famous local “Onta-yaki (pottery)” shop This area has a retro Showa-era atmosphere Hitachi color TV! It feels like you’ve traveled back in time The atmosphere of the building is really nice There is an eel restaurant right in front of you On the right, there is a shop selling home-grown vegetables and home-cooked meals This is a stylish cafe that serves meals using fresh vegetables The atmosphere around here is also very good It is no wonder that it is called “Kyushu’s Little Kyoto.” This area is more paved than you might imagine It’s not that well known nationwide, so I thought it might have a rundown feel to it, but that’s not the case at all There are also many souvenir shops around here If you continue walking, you will come to the Tenryo Hita Museum If you are interested in the history of Hita, you should visit this museum I was thinking of going to a cafe called “Mameda Roll” next to this museum, which I’ve been to before This is a cafe where you can get delicious roll cakes Google says it’s open, but it seems that today is Tuesday and they’re closed Too bad! There are other cafes so I’ll try them out The street in front of the Mameda Roll Cafe has a nice atmosphere It has the atmosphere of a commercial city I think it would be very tasteful to walk around here in a yukata However, there are not many tourists on this weekday, so it is very easy to walk around There are many Onta-yaki crafts, such as pottery and chopsticks, so you can find nice souvenirs, and there are also some nice cafes I had been planning to go here before but it was closed At “Mugiya Cafe,” the yuzu kosho soft serve ice cream made with yuzu kosho from Hita looks delicious The store is open today so I’ll go The exterior is also cute and picturesque I came into the store There is also lunch like this It’s summer now, so they also have seasonal shaved ice and banana creme brûlée It’s very photogenic On the next page there are fruit smoothies, and on the right there is tapioca and regular coffee As you can see on the right, they are particular about the tea they use. They have a wide variety It’s a cafe, but they also serve alcohol and snacks like keema curry bread There is also the yuzu pepper soft serve that was written on the outside This is a cafe with a wide variety of menu items and can be used in a variety of ways And I ordered the Yuzu Kosho Soft Serve I ordered it because it seems to be available only here Let’s eat! I wonder what it tastes like? The rich milk has a slight sourness of yuzu and a refreshing flavor The yuzu pepper adds a nice spiciness that is sure to become addictive This is a soft serve ice cream flavor I’ve never had before, so it’s definitely worth trying It has a perfect mix of sweet, spicy and sour flavors There is also an auberge here, where you can enjoy specially prepared meals. It has a high rating on Google The reason why Hita has such an atmosphere of a small Kyoto is because it was a very important place during the Edo period A territory directly controlled by the shogunate government at the time In other words, the land was directly managed by the government Hita City was home to many government officials from the shogunate and prospered as the center of the region During the Edo period, many merchants lived in Mameda Town, the center of Hita City, and business flourished here Therefore, the atmosphere of the Edo period still remains to this day The building in front of me is a restaurant called “Sen-ya” where you can eat delicious eel It is written as Hitamabushi, not Hitsumabushi The building next to Hita Mabushi also has a very historic feel to it It’s quite tall for a building in this area, so it has quite a strong presence Is it some special historical building or something? It has a shop-like atmosphere My eyes were right. It says “Registered Tangible Cultural Property” Urban Landscape Buildings I’ll look up what this is later and write it in the subtitles It says here! Nippon Marukan…? What is this? It says Mameda Castle Tower I wonder if I can get a good view if I climb to the top? I’ll try The first floor also operates as a pharmacy I paid 350 yen and went inside It is written as a kitchen that was actually used until the 1950s You can also feel the retro atmosphere here We have left things exactly as they were at the time When you see scenery like this, you really get the sense that Hita is a city with a long history There are many tools on display that have never been seen in this day and age This is a postwar rice cooker made by Hitachi I feel like this is high-quality enough to live on in this day and age And it looks like you can climb up the stairs The stairs around here are so steep that you might think they’d be the kind of place where the pitch-black Kurosuke from “My Neighbor Totoro” would appear Wow, amazing! The Calpis shop curtain also has a very retro feel to it The low ceilings and other features make it clear that this is a building from the Showa period This is amazing! The storage jar is very large The lid is a large round bowl called Nippon-gan Having recently been on a cruise ship, I would be inclined to pronounce it “Nippon Maru,” but it’s actually pronounced “Nippon Gan.” Older people can look at this scenery and feel nostalgic It’s interesting for young people to discover new things and learn about things that used to exist I miss the thermometer The temperature in Hita during the hot summer is 33 degrees right now, which is still better than it used to be Just a little ways off to the side there is this nice room Wow, this is amazing! The wall is shining gold Is this also something that has remained as it was at the time? There is a very good atmosphere If such an inn existed, it would surely be popular There aren’t many tall buildings in Hita, so even if you go up to the third floor, you can get a great view and even see the mountains in the distance If you go up further, there seems to be an observation deck Isn’t this a good idea? The view of Hita city spreads out on both sides This side is the view of the mountains, not the town On the other side there is a view of the city Looking at the atmosphere of the roof tiles, the area where I am in has an atmosphere of having traveled back in time, but from here I can clearly see that there are many modern buildings and commercial facilities in the distance Apparently, this is the tallest building around here I think it’s about four stories tall There is a tall building in the far right there And right in front of the current building is “Tenryo Machino Eki.” It is an unusual name, “Machino eki”
rather than “Michino eki” There are also many local crafts and products on sale here In this area, you can find plums from Oyama town, where we will visit Umehibiki, as well as citrus fruits, such as yuzu kosho, and Oita’s local dish, “dango soup.” This is interesting! This is the Hita Yakisoba Karinto I ate earlier Also, when you think of Oita, you think of kabosu Kabosu juice and yuzu, this is the “Tsuburana” series I have not seen many “Tsuburana peaches” This is also the first time I’ve seen “Kabosu and Lactic Acid Bacteria” This is the kabosu I always drink I’m also very curious about the sweet sake around here Oita-style fried chicken sauce, Ryukyu sauce, and chive and pork sauce Do you know the local Oita dish, Nira-buta? And Hita Yakisoba is also sold there I would have liked to have spent a little more time walking around the town of Mameda eating I’m staying at a nice inn called Umehibiki today, so I’d better head there early There are some delicious restaurants around here too On the left, in a historic building, there is a yokan and Japanese sweets shop I’m also interested in the handmade ohagi (glutinous rice snacks) next to it There are many places like this where you can eat your way around There is a lot of alcohol sold here Oita Prefecture has a wide selection of delicious sake and shochu You can also buy souvenirs here On the right there is another impressive building housing a pharmacy It was only about an hour, but we had a wonderful time touring around the area If you want to take your time, you’ll need 2 to 3 hours Leaving Hita city, we head to our hot spring inn, Okuhita Onsen UMEHIBIKI By the way, there is a Sapporo Beer sign on your right, and Hita City has a large beer factory because of its delicious water At this brewery, you can not only drink beer, but also enjoy a tour of the brewery and a barbecue It takes about 20 minutes by car from the center of Hita to get to Umehibiki There is also a free shuttle from Hita Station, so you can easily visit even if you don’t have a car If you drive southeast from the city center, you will find the inn in Oyama Town, a place with beautiful valleys and rich natural scenery This inn is located in a really secluded area Arrived Okuhita Onsen Umehibiki favorite inn, Umehibiki Onsen What you see in front of you is a shop called “Umeshuzo Oyama.” This shop also has a very good selection of products, with many souvenirs from Oita and Hita plums in particular, so I’ll take a look at them later The lodge is just down the street from here After getting off, there is a parking lot for guests only, so only guests staying at the hotel can come by car The baths are also open for day use, so you can park in the parking lot behind the baths and use the baths This is the large bath area Go down and the car park is on your left Oops! I see someone I know! Is Morry-san staying here today too? Seriously? I heard the inn has been renovated, but I never thought the dates would overlap I’m just kidding I invited I suddenly bumped into Morry-san, but this is the main entrance. It says Umehibiki I’ll go to the front desk from here There is an accommodation building ahead, and another building to the left You can see that the buildings are connected by a bridge I will be staying in a room in the building on the left The building called “Oushuku” stands out with its presence I like the atmosphere here Let’s go inside Here in Okuhita Onsen Hibiki is a relatively new inn that opened in 2017 The town of Oyama, where the inn is located, is a scenic spot blessed with Hibiki Valley and plum blossoms The spectacular view of the valley while soaking in the hot springs and the interior and service that highlights the local specialty, plums, make this a one-of-a-kind, exquisite experience that you won’t find anywhere else While valuing the culture, resources and thoughts of the land that our ancestors have created, while also incorporating new needs I think it’s really wonderful that they express these things in their lodgings First, enter the entrance and take off your shoes,
and you’ll find a semi-private space The reception is on the left There are guest rooms to the right of the reception This time I will be staying in the Oushuku building on this side There is a lounge on the way there The lounge Togoro is also pretty good Once inside, there is a relaxing lounge space The calm tones create a sophisticated and luxurious space At the bar counter on the left, made from a single piece of wood, you can enjoy original cocktails made with plums in the evening The cocktail I had last time was really good, so I think I’ll try it again today There is also free coffee and tea available here They also sell gelato, which you can enjoy in the lounge They have a variety of flavors unique to Oita, including ones using Oyama plums, Kunisaki, Bungotakada, and Kituki By the way, there was a cigar room in the lounge area Therefore, smokers can also enjoy themselves here And then I head to my room This is the villa Oushuku The kumiko door is also beautiful Up ahead is the Taiko Bridge I really like the feeling of crossing this bridge to get to the guest room The area smells great with the aroma of high quality aromatic oils I crossed this bridge and inserted my card key… Did it react? The door opened automatically There are various pillows on the right hand side as you enter You can choose your own pillow and take it to your room There is a window in the shape of a plum blossom on the left, and this area is also a beautiful design that really shows off the plum blossoms There is lighting all the way up Umehibiki has several types of rooms like this This time I’m staying in a room called the annex “Oushuku Deluxe.” If you are interested in other room types, please check out the detailed room tour in our previous video There’s a nice window in this hallway too This time I’m staying in room 201 Now let’s go into the room The key can be hung around the neck like this The “Oushuku” sign at the entrance also has a very luxurious feel feel. I’ll go This is my second time here, but it’s my favorite inn, so I get excited every time I enter my room First, this is the bedroom area Kumiko work is also used around here, The ceiling is cut out in a perfect circle, giving it an atmosphere reminiscent of the moon, creating a very high-quality space There’s a lot of beautiful art on the walls From the moment you enter this room, you will be transported to a completely everyday space This inn is also really well-equipped in terms of facilities There are switches, power outlets, reading lights, etc. at the bedside There is also an outlet here This is the desk It can be opened and transformed into a dressing table like this There is plum blossom art on display here as well, and it’s clear that they’ve paid attention to even the smallest details There is a chair underneath, a drawer and a magnifying mirror Here’s another dresser The art inside is a little different too And here is the air conditioner switch and, wow! Are the curtains automatic too? It’s amazing when you press them If you are staying at a luxury inn, you will want to have automatic curtains And the living space is made of tatami mats The feel of the feet is good It’s a comfortable sofa where you can stretch your legs and relax The desk has a very unusual shape which is interesting The small round table below is an unusual shape Here you will find a guide to the facility and welcome snacks It says Umehibiki and they have homemade baked manju And there is a partition on the front, and when you open it To help you escape from your daily routine, the TV can be hidden Below is a Bluetooth speaker And then go out onto the terrace This is a truly wonderful space Take a look! The atmosphere of this open-air bath is truly amazing While soaking in the bath, you can enjoy the magnificent view of Hibiki Valley From the large public bath and the sauna lounge, which I will introduce later, you can see the exposed rock face of the Hibiki Valley From this guest room you can see the river below and the town of Oyama in the background on the left The townscape, surrounded by mountains and nestled in a sunken area, is full of nature and can be seen clearly This is my second time here, and it’s still an impressive sight The hot spring is spacious, with the bathtub large enough for two adults to bathe together The large relaxing chairs on the outdoor terrace are also wonderful If you want to take a bath to cool down, you can sit here and relax while enjoying the beautiful view Return to the room and take a closer look The bathroom on the right has two luxurious sinks, making it a comfortable space to relax The handle is also designed to resemble a plum blossom There is a towel underneath. I believe it is a towel made in Imabari The hair dryer is made by Dyson And when you open this, you’ll find the amenities Since this is a male-only stay, there are various men’s amenities provided Razors, combs, toothbrushes, body towels, and facial masks are also provided and shaving gel Amazing! Detaille la maison Paris shampoo, conditioner, and body soap are available in mini bottles There is a towel rack on the other side Further ahead there is a shower in the room with both a hand shower and a rain shower, and there is also an indoor bath like this There should be hot spring water in the indoor bath too It is a jacuzzi bath, so you can enjoy a different type of bath from the open-air bath amenities are as follows Amenities are AGRARIA It’s a manufacturer I’ve seen somewhere before Then I came back to the hallway and opened the first door you’ll find a closet There are hangers on top and a handy mini bag that you can take to the bath which also contains deodorant spray and brushes To the left of this picture is a pair of indoor wear in a color reminiscent of plum blossoms Last time I came here, it was very comfortable There is also a small bag and socks, and a security box underneath And there’s another door, which is also nicely arranged There is a glass with a plum mark in the middle Next to it is a teacup that also has a plum mark on it The coffee cup on the left has a And underneath there is a coffee machine, and this is plum kombucha There is also Yame tea from Fukuoka here When you open the lid, This is the box for throwing away tea bags Hita Tenryo water is also available There is also a sink here so you can make coffee or tea conveniently And underneath, wow! You can put wine in it In the refrigerator on the left All drinks are inclusive The Tsuburana series has the “Suri Suri Pear” which is typical of Hita Sparkling plum wine, yuzu honey, sparkling, and premium Ebisu As a welcome drink, we offer our own homemade ripe plum Vibrato This is also very delicious. I will eat it later Finally, there is a toilet just beyond the door next to the entrance The toilet has a sink. I’ll So I’ll be staying here for one night today I booked this room because I thought it was nice the last time I stayed here, so my wish has come true and I’m going to relax in this room today This is my second time here, but I’m excited to be at my favorite inn This is about the room rate If you use the early bird discount, you can stay in a room for two people with two meals for as little as 80,000 yen. The price is around 40,000 yen per person The most affordable room type is a two-person room with two beds for around 70,000 yen, or around 30,000 yen per person After this, we will have a welcome drink from the refrigerator, and then I would like to show you the large public bath and the newly built sauna lounge I’m looking forward to that too A welcome drink will be served Ripe plum vibrate I’ll enjoy having this This is so delicious! The rich sweetness and sourness of the plums are well balanced You can enjoy the natural sweetness and sourness of plums together As it is a famous plum producing area, the quality is really high and the taste is rich Let’s have some tea and sweets They’re cute and have the Umehibiki logo on them I thought this was a manju filled with bean paste like “Hakata Torimon,” but it also contains plum paste So this bun is not only sweet, but also has a slight sour taste All the drinks and snacks served here are homemade, and there are so many things you can only get here, so this is truly a wonderful place to stay Now let’s go to the large public bath and sauna lounge Now I’m going to go and see the large public bath and the newly renovated sauna lounge I’ll be exiting from the front side here The path leading to the large public bath in this area is also a very picturesque space This lighting is wrapped in wood, and is designed to give off the warmth of the forest that is so characteristic of Hita This is the restaurant where you can have dinner and breakfast It’s so artistically designed that you wouldn’t know it was a door unless you knew where it was Take the elevator here to the upper floor and go to the large public bath The stairs next to the elevator are also well lit If you go through here, you will come to this place The facility is currently undergoing renovation, so this temporary kids’ space is in place When you stay here, the actual kids’ space will be on the other side, so this will be a bit more spacious In front of me are various names of plums written On the way to the large public bath, you will find explanations of Hita’s history and attractions written on the walls, so you can feel the charm of Hita as you head to the public bath On the left side of here is the first large public bath called “Ryokuho”, so let’s go there the changing area The lockers come with locks and are spacious This is the sink and of course there is a hair dryer Made by Panasonic There is also a massage chair in a little hidden place You can relax after taking Mini towels are provided As you enter the bathroom, there is a shower area to the left where you can wash your body This area hasn’t changed much since the renovation, but some small details have been restored and the indoor bath is spacious On this side there is a warm bath and a cold bath and there is also a sauna in the large bath. It is a spacious space And you can go out to the open-air bath on the right here I feel like this spacious area didn’t exist before As soon as I got out, I was like, wow! This is amazing! The bare rocks of Hibiki Valley jumped out at me I don’t think the chairs and tables here were here before, so this is a newly renovated part When you want to cool down a little with a hot spring bath, you can sit here and relax while enjoying this wonderful view This is great There is an open-air rock bath on the left This bathtub itself is a bathtub that was already there Here you can also see the Hibiki Valley while soaking in the hot springs There is a sleeping bath on the left here This is also nice You can lie back here and enjoy the magnificent view of the greenery of this amazing valley Soaking in this hot spring is one of the highlights of Umehibiki This is also a newly renovated bedrock bath If you enter from the left, you will see the bedrock bath wear and towels right in front of you Here is how to use the bedrock bath This is the bedrock bath space On the right hand side there are three chairs where you can lie down and sleep And here we have a total of seven chairs where you can sit up a little and relax No matter where you sit, you can enjoy the view of the greenery of the Hibiki Valley on this side There is a garden in the foreground, and beyond that you can see a valley with exposed rock faces When you get to the back, you will find the area like this where you can relax after your bath The lighting is also very well designed and there is another large bath at the back This is “Aojiku.” It says “men’s bath,” but it changes daily, so tomorrow it will be switched with the large bath mentioned earlier This Aojiku has a facility called Katsubanyoku This place is also free for guests staying at the hotel, and Katsubanyoku wear is prepared right in front of you And here it says “How to enter Katsubanyoku” Beyond this door is a spacious Katsubanyoku space We often hear about bedrock bathing, but many people have probably never heard of Katsubanyoku The room temperature is around 42°C to 43°C, and the humidity is 25%, so it’s not too hot and you won’t feel the discomfort of a high-temperature sauna, such as shortness of breath. People who don’t like saunas can relax and unwind here The ceramic balls are laid out like this This is a clay ball made of mineral-rich ores that emit negative ions and encourage sweating all over the body, helping to expel waste products You can really relax in a variety of ways at this inn There is also a massage chair in the changing area, and you enter the bathroom from this side The bathroom is designed in the same way as the large public bath mentioned earlier There is a spacious indoor bath right in front of you, and on this side there is warm water, and the cold bath is currently being filled with water Body washing area And there is a high-temperature sauna right in front of you It’s a spacious space And this is the way to the open-air bath, which is an interesting space The view in front of me is reminiscent of a valley and a waterfall Mist gushes out once every few minutes He said that it was inspired by the morning mist that sometimes appears in the Hibiki Valley in the morning When you go outside, there is an area where you can relax on the terrace just like before On the right is a large rock bath The hot spring is coming out with great force Unfortunately, there is no reclining bath here, so please enjoy a reclining bath in the large public bath mentioned earlier Now I come to the sauna lounge It is written in the style of the newly created “Benizuru” If you hold your card here, you can enter It’s amazing from the moment you walk in There are colorful vertical lines between the cypress trees The colors are simple yet entertaining to visitors There are three types of sauna lounges, but this is the one I’ll be using “CHO no HAGASANE” Let’s go in Upon entering, you will be greeted by the pleasant scent of cypress, as the shop has just opened The ground also has a slightly colorful tone First, here is a sauna hat and sauna wear with the Umehibiki logo Whether you are with friends or with the opposite sex, you can feel free to enter the sauna with this kind of clothing Wow, this space is amazing! It’s so spacious! First of all, on the right side there is a spacious living space that can be used as a resting place There is a sofa like Yogibo, so you can take a relaxing break here There is a TV with Bluetooth speakers right in front of you The plum design on top of this TV is really cute Children will love the face-like design And if you turn around, you’ll see a large water bath This is spacious! The water bath is so spacious that three adults can fit in it at the same time And isn’t this amazing? Is it a loyly? The aroma is stored here, and you put it in here and mix it with water before using it You can enjoy two different scents They said that this uses aroma oils made by a company called “Mori to Hito to” in Nakatsu city The inn is particular about this area The water comes directly from the groundwater in the Hibiki Valley, Hita This trickling sound is great There is a shower next to it The head shower is like this Amenities are also provided by Detaile la maison And when I stepped inside the sauna room, wow, this is amazing! Lots of steam! The sauna lounge here has a space where you can lie down and relax like this In the middle there is an area where you can do loyly There’s a normal chair over here It feels good and keeps you warm I can’t wait to get in to this one And here you can set the temperature you want, between 70 and 95 degrees The lighting can also be finely adjusted There is a sink here The amenities are available here just like in the rooms just like in the room, and a mirror to The hair dryer used is from Refa The wind is enough The black hair dryer is cool I’ve seen white ones before but this is the first time I’ve seen black ones I want one at home And below that, there are various amenities like this The cups are also made with Hita cedar This plate is also Onta yaki Hita pottery is used and the ones shown here are It seems that everything can be enjoyed all-inclusively These two are also smoked nuts and dried fruits that are unique to Hita Below are various towels and the drinks in the fridge are all-inclusive We have Hita Tenryo water, salt, kabosu, Hita-style pear cider, and lemon water Hydration is important for sauna-goers, so it’s great that they have drinks on offer that will keep you hydrated and give you a taste of Hita There is a freezer on the top Wow! There is ice cream in the freezer This is also an ice cream from Yufuin in Oita Prefecture, and it comes in chocolate and pineapple flavors And then there’s “Mukan” from Hacchan Do These are mandarin oranges that have been frozen to make them crunchy This was served in the school lunches at my school in Oita and it was delicious This is a very luxurious sauna space I’m very excited because I’ve never stayed at an inn like this before In addition, there is a terrace here, and the atmosphere on the terrace is very nice First, there are chairs on the left and a parasol There are also reclining chairs here where you can lie down and relax And the view from here is amazing You can see the rocky Hibiki Valley right before your eyes As I mentioned earlier, each room has a different view, so it’s great to be able to enjoy a different view from the sauna lounge as another room Since I ame here, let’s take a look at two more This is “YOUKIHI” The facilities themselves are the same, but the layout is a little different When you enter, you will find a sauna hat and sauna wear There is a sink at the entrance and a TV on the left There is a wide horizontal space on this side There is a cold bath in front of you, but it is a little smaller than the previous one The previous one is more expensive, so it’s only natural that you would have to pay an additional 5,000 yen In this sauna room, there are two chairs lined up like this The terrace is just as spacious as the previous one And the third one is “MAIOUGI” There are sauna hats and clothing at the entrance, and this is the cold bath It is about the same size as the sauna room we saw earlier The shower is on the right and the sauna room is right in front of you The sauna room has chairs at the back like this The living room is also spacious like this It’s the most compact of the three, but honestly it’s spacious enough for two people The design on the TV is a little different The tatami mat underneath feels nice to the touch The sound lounge seems more comfortable than I imagined I’ve recently become addicted to saunas, so I’m really happy with this facility Then, when I went out to the terrace where Hita geta is, it was a little more compact than before, but the view was exactly the same The view of Hibiki Valley is amazing no matter how many times you see it Hot Spring Time First, let’s take a bath in the open-air bath in your room I’ll relax in the hot springs here and then go to the sauna lounge This also feels really good The temperature of the water here is perfect It’s midsummer now and the temperature outside is rising, so if the hot spring is too hot, you’ll probably want to get out right away The water is set to a slightly warmer temperature, so it’s not hot, but a comfortable temperature that you can stay in for a long time even in the summer I was surprised I think they probably take customer feedback into account and adjust the temperature to a comfortable level The attention to detail in this area makes this a truly wonderful inn The spring quality is simple spring water, and it doesn’t have a sulfur smell The bath is gentle on the skin and you can enjoy a long soak, and best of all, the view to your left is truly amazing I want to stay in the hot springs forever while looking at this view The blue sky and clouds reflected on the water surface are also very beautiful What a wonderful atmosphere in the bath! The moment I step into this bath, I feel glad that I came here today And if you get a little hot, you can stand up like this and let the cool air blow on your body You can enjoy a clearer view of the green and majestic mountains of Hibiki Valley Awesome! And then I ate some Tsuburana pears that were in the fridge I’ll enjoy having this! This is also really good! It’s been a while since I last drank this, but it’s so full of pear pulp that it’s irresistible Tsuburana Kabosu is also delicious, but this pear is probably my personal favorite Irresistible freshness Oita is famous for its pears, so I feel like drinking this kind of drink You can stay in it forever ♨ And now we arrive at the sauna lounge, our other guest room It is no exaggeration to say that I came here today to refresh myself Let’s go Change into sauna wear It looks good. Now I’ll “revitalize” it enter The temperature is set at over 90 degrees, so the inside is very hot This is awesome And let’s do a loyly I’m going to do a loyly using this aromatic water that I just made The heat spreads! The fine, slightly citrusy scent of kabosu wafts through the sauna room It’s the best It’s great that the hotel sauna can get really hot Since you will sweat a lot, it is essential to stay hydrated There are plenty of drinks in the fridge This is salt and kabosu. Kabosu is a specialty of Oita Prefecture I’ll enjoy having this It’s delicious! This makes me want to drink more! I think there are many sauna facilities that provide free water It’s really great to be able to hydrate and get some salt in a tasty way like this I came here with yuzan-san from “nixstacy” and we had a loyly session Nixtacy Loyly We stayed at the Hilton together I can’t take it anymore I’m at my limit (On that clock) 9 minutes left How much longer? About a minute and a half left How many minutes is this? 15 minutes I mentioned the “7173 rule” in the other room earlier and said “7 minutes is good,” but this is double that The 7 minutes are for rock bathing, not sauna This is stoic Yuzan What about hydration? Is it better not to drink water while it’s hot? Generally, it’s better not to drink water There’s no such thing as “it’s better not to do it”! All of them are wrong It is definitely better to do it Please drink before entering Not for your health, but for the enjoyment of the sauna, it is best not to do this It’s good to drink for your health It’s better to drink it for your health, but I don’t care about my health That’s what he say Would you rather pursue stoicism or value your health? This is a good idea Because it’s a private venue, no one will come even if we chat amongst ourselves like this Very good Even if I’m talking in a normal sauna, if an old man suddenly comes in, I’ll just pretend I wasn’t talking Because I might get complaints from my uncle The clock struck 12 No, no!! It’s hot, it’s hot!! Is this big enough for everyone to fit in?! Four guys?! Aaaaah!! There’s too much water overflowing!! Wow!! Four guys can fit in here! Usually it’s not bige nough for four people It’s a bit of a stretch Yuzan: It’s now popular in my family to say, “Travel is an investment in yourself!” Morry: Is it popular? Nobody says that Yuzan: That’s what I say when I suggest to my wife that we go somewhere and she doesn’t feel like going Yuzan: That’s how we break through thank you Bathing in the open air is the best! And after the sauna, I’ll have some Mukan Taking an outdoor sauna bath in the summer It’s great to eat frozen fruit after a bath I miss this feeling It’s a crunchy ice cream with juicy mandarin pulp inside The sauna lounge is even more comfortable than I imagined I would highly recommend this to anyone who comes to Umehibiki You will definitely have a superb experience that you can only You can blow away your daily fatigue Hibiki Valley at dusk is also beautiful When you return to your room, you’ll be greeted with a different view dinner Enjoy dinner time♪ Meals are served in a private room Take a seat and you will see the menu on your left The product description is written in a clear and easy to understand manner This is the drinks menu When you open the menu, the first page is lined from top to bottom with all the plum liquors made by Umeshuzo Oyama On the right hand side, there are plum vinegar, kabosu plum vinegar, blueberry plum wine, sparkling cocktails, and yuzu wine made in our own factory The next page has beer, which you can enjoy at the Sapporo Beer Hita Factory mentioned earlier There are black labels, non-alcoholic drinks, and shochu below. There is shochu from Hita The shochu continues all the way to the top right, and there is a wide selection of sake from Fukuoka, Oita, Saga, and Kyushu The next page also has sparkling wine, red wine, white wine and whiskey On the last page, there are soft drinks, Tsuburana Kabosu, Surisuri Nashi, and even Saga’s famous Yuzu Awa As you can see, there are plenty of soft drinks available The one at the bottom is the Vibrato, which was also served as a welcome drink First, let me introduce you to the aperitifs The short glass on the right is Oyama that has been aged for one year The alcohol content is 12% The tall glass on the left is Yumehibiki that has been aged for about three years years It has a high alcohol content of 20%, so please enjoy it slowly The white dish on the far right is a summer vegetable wine terrine Please enjoy the lemon sour cream on the bottom right The four palettes on the left are cheese tofu on the top right The top one is topped with ripe plum puree The bottom right is lightly smoked salmon. Inside is lentils simmered in consommé and semi-dried tomatoes with herbs The bottom left is a salad of Nagasaki-produced Asiatic shrimp, topped with American sauce The top left is our homemade mugwort mochi and toasumi deep-fried tofu. The vegetables on top are wild vines Let’s start with a toast with Oyama plum wine, which has been aged for a year Delicious! It’s a very rich plum wine, with a refreshing, crisp plum acidity that spreads throughout your mouth And this is Yumehibiki that has been aged for three years I was told it was strong, so I’ll drink it in small amounts Amazing! It has a richer flavor than before I feel a refined whiskey-like flavor spreading out This is still delicious Summer vegetable wine terrine and the white stuff is lemon sour cream Amazing! The outside is solidified with a jelly-like substance, but the vegetables inside have a crunchy texture The terrine also contains wine flavor and tomatoes, giving it a Western flavor The lemon sour cream is not only sour but also sweet, and the basil tomato sauce brings out the flavor and crunchy texture of the vegetables, making it very delicious I thought the food would be completely Japanese, but it was Western-style and good This plum wine, which tastes like whiskey, seems to go well with it Delicious! It goes great with plum wine The appetizer is so delicious! And this is cheese tofu.
The texture is amazing! This is definitely tofu This is also delicious! As the name suggests, it is a fusion of cheese and tofu A combination that seems to exist but doesn’t It’s true that cheese and tofu go really well together The slightly gooey texture is nice And this is smoked salmon The smoked salmon is a definite hit It contains dried tomatoes and herbs, giving it a very refreshing taste And it said “fried mugwort mochi sandwiched between two pieces of rice cake” The crispy texture of the fried food is combined with the chewy texture to create a nice texture The smell of mugwort drifts through the air, and the taste of Chinese ink also comes through The vegetable tempura is also delicious! It goes well with alcohol! This is the asparagus paste From above, you can see the ink painting of Kousen This Kosen is made by frying ink and egg yolk Mix well before serving I’ll start with the leftmost one This is “Tanaka Rokujugo 6513”, which was made in Itoshima City, Fukuoka Prefecture The “Sansui” in the middle is made by the local Oimatsu Sake Brewery The one on the far right is “Azumaichi.” This is sake made in Ureshinno Asparagus grated The natural sweetness of asparagus really comes through She said it used bottarga and was roasted The moderate saltiness and aroma of smoked cheese complement the flavor of the asparagus Delicious! Let’s try some Japanese sake! This is sake from Itoshima This is a refreshing, sweet, easy-to-drink sake Delicious! I will explain the sashimi to you Today’s fish are tuna, sea bream, kanpachi, and squid The agar-like thing on the bottom right is Kawatake, a freshwater seaweed harvested in Asakura, Fukuoka Prefecture This has no flavour by itself, so please dip it in soy sauce before eating This soy sauce is made locally in Hita. It is a sweet soy sauce Now, let’s prepare it First, tuna It’s very sweet and delicious! This tuna doesn’t have a fishy smell at all Next is sea bream The sea bream has a relatively soft texture and the sweetness melts away in an instant By the way, Beppu soy sauce is quite sweet, and Hita soy sauce is also relatively sweet, but a little drier than Beppu soy sauce Personally, I like the taste The truth Next is squid The squid is slightly chewy and has a nice sticky sweetness that spreads throughout your mouth And Kanpachi The Kanpachi has just the right amount of elasticity and the juicy flavor spreads throughout your mouth, making it irresistible All the sashimi is delicious too Although it is an inn located in the mountains, quality control must be really good This is Sansui, a sake from Hita This sake has less sweetness than the Tanaka Rokugo mentioned earlier, and is refreshing and sharp The sashimi and sake are the best! So good! This is the eggplant dengaku and the prefecture’s sweetfish zunda grilled dish The eggplant is topped with miso paste, and the sweetfish on top is topped with miso paste In addition, the bones of the sweetfish are removed using a method called tsubo-nuki The bones that were removed are then deep fried once and placed on Please enjoy the rice crackers I’ll have this crispy thing The texture is amazing! It was good to eat it with this I’m going to go for sweetfish It’s delicious and packed with meat! The juicy flavor of the sweetfish is irresistible The bitterness is also kept to a minimum, and perhaps the sweetness of the zunda nicely offsets the bitterness Hita has the Mikuma River, so it’s a great place to enjoy delicious sweetfish As I mentioned when I walked around Hita earlier, it is wonderful to be able to eat such Hita-like cuisine in a kaiseki style This is fish, so it goes well with sake This is Ureshino sake This is delicious! When you drink it, it has a gentle and moist feeling, but it also has a slight sourness that goes well with food This might be my favorite Ureshino sake is so good! This is grilled fish, river fish, and sake is also great And this big eggplant The eggplant skin is roasted to a fragrant finish, and the eggplant has a nice sweetness to it, with the aroma of dengaku miso added to make for an elegant dish This is steamed conger eel with rice The conger eel on top is cooked in soy sauce broth, and the rice on the bottom is made with burdock, carrots, and hijiki seaweed The steamed rice below is cooked in burdock stock This is oven-roasted domestic beef The ingredients are mixed beans, mini okra, and magic red It is covered in a soy sauce-based sauce, so please mix it well before eating It’s so extravagant that it makes you wonder “Which is the main dish?” First, steamed conger eel The rice is very chewy I’ll enjoy having this This is also delicious! The conger eel I ate in Hiroshima was served with a sauce like kabayaki or unaju, but here it is steamed, so you can fully enjoy the original flavor of the conger eel Underneath this is rice that has a chewy texture similar to glutinous rice It is topped with carrots and hijiki seaweed, giving it a Japanese flavor and making it a truly luxurious dish Next is a domestic oven-baked (thick sauce) I can’t remember ever having Japanese beef with a thick sauce Domestic beef is so tender that it melts in your mouth the moment you put it in. It’s high quality Although it is heavily frosted, it has a very light taste and is easy to eat The sauce on top gives it a very refined meat flavor, and the Magic Red has a refreshing flavor similar to bean sprouts and green onions, so the meat goes down smoothly without being too heavy This is a plum wine tasting set From the right, we have Kabosu plum wine, Kodawari Nankou, and barrel-brewed wine I’m going to try the barrel-aged “Umehibiki” It is the most expensive product sold here and is also featured in the “Nanatsuboshi in Kyushu” event What is this? It’s amazing! It’s not only rich, but the smoked aroma hits you the moment you drink this plum wine It has the same whiskey-like aroma as the toast we had earlier Since it is blended with whiskey, it has a completely different flavor from regular plum wine, which is interesting If you take care with your plum wine in this way, you can enjoy a variety of flavors Personally, I think a great inn is one that offers experiences you can’t get at other inns, and this certainly fits that description This is bonito stock This is a conger eel from Kumamoto Prefecture From the right, we have red onion, maitake mushroom, tofu, maple leaf gluten, red radish, mizuna, and grilled lettuce This is yuba Please put the vegetables in first, and when the conger eel has shrunk after shabu-shabu cooking, it is ready to eat This is plum rice ball with chazuke The rice ball is topped with perilla leaves, radish sprouts, seedless plums, and arare rice crackers Please enjoy this soup stock Let’s put in the vegetables first Tofu Maitake mushrooms also produce a delicious broth Onion and Green vegetables all at once There is even yuba (tofu skin) Knock knock excuse me Shall we go to the bar after this? Yes what time will we go? We will go after dinner, so I’m thinking of going around 9:30. Is that okay? Sure. Let’s go together! It’s Mori-san! Excuse me See you later! Now that the water is boiling nicely, let’s shabu-shabu the conger eel This is absolutely delicious After a little shabu-shabu, it puffed up and turned white like this Delicious! A light soup stock that brings out the flavor of Japanese cuisine The conger eel is plump and the mild flavor of the white fish spreads throughout your mouth Delicious! Conger eel is a high-class fish served at Japanese restaurants such as traditional Japanese restaurants, so it is a luxury to have it as the final dish After enjoying the meaty flavor of the conger eel and steak, we finished off with a light broth of shabu-shabu, which went down easy on the stomach Now, let’s try a 3-kind tasting set of carefully selected Nanko plum liqueurs This is also offered in ANA’s international lounges It’s delicious! The previous one had a very deep flavor, but this one is much richer than regular plum wine This plum wine is so well-balanced and delicious that it is probably served in business class lounges as well Now, let’s have some ochazuke with this shabu-shabu broth This is also absolutely delicious I’ll enjoy having this The best! The sweetness of the plum really comes through and it’s delicious The aroma of the grilled rice balls is accented by the flavor of the perilla leaves, making this a surefire favorite for any Japanese person This is calming And the last plum wine is Kabosu plum wine This is an interesting new flavor! It really lives up to its name The aroma of plum wine and the flavor of kabosu are combined, and the kabosu gives the drink a stronger sour taste Be careful not to drink too much It’s Yame tea This is peach blancmange Topped with anglaise sauce This Anglaise sauce is a soft peach custard-like sauce There are some fresh peaches in front of you, so please peel them and enjoy The middle of the mochi on the left has a plum gelato filling This plum gelato is from a gelato shop at the nearby roadside station, Mizube no Sato Oyama The dessert dish is also made from Onta ware I’ll have some mochi The crispy mochi with the fizzy gelato texture is great It’s hard to find plum gelato anywhere else This also has a nice sweet and sour taste And peach blancmange It has a refreshing taste like almond tofu, but you can still taste the rich sweetness of the peach This blancmange is also delicious We also have whole peaches for your extravagance These peaches are sweet and delicious! It’s not a completely Japanese dish, but it has some Western elements, which makes it unique and wonderful And Yame tea from nearby Fukuoka Delicious! It has a strong bitterness I was very satisfied with my previous stay, and the food was delicious this time too As expected, the quality of the ingredients was very high, as they were all made with the best ingredients from Kyushu As I mentioned earlier, the name “Umehibiki” means that plums are sprinkled on various dishes, and there were many dishes that could only be enjoyed here, so I’m glad I came a second time It was delicious! Thank you for the meal After your meal, enjoy another drink at the bar The cocktail I had last time, made with Tsuburana kabosu, was delicious Apparently, quite a few people have ordered it after watching my video, but unfortunately it’s only available for a limited time This time, we have the following summer limited cocktails This is “Butterfly Wings”. At the bottom, it says “Yuzu Special” and is a seasonal item This plum wine cocktail is a drink menu that is only available at the bar. There are many of them This wasn’t on the drink menu for the previous dinner If you’re feeling a bit hungry, they also have mixed nuts, beef jerky, dried fruit, and the snack plum chazuke There are also desserts here Plum pound cake I’m interested in this product because it’s a collaboration with Umehibiki, a famous and popular gelato shop in Fukuoka On the right is a Hita Highball This is famous in Hita There are many glasses lined up on the left On the bottom right of the glass, there is a cup made from the famous Hita cedar, which is often used for Onta ware and Hita highballs Something familiar from my channel has appeared! This also uses Tsuburana kabosu That’s great, just like last time! For non-alcoholic drinks, Tsuburana Kabosu is used, and for alcoholic drinks, Yuzushu is used This is a mojito Here it is Let’s eat! A refreshing, summery cocktail is a nice touch The combination of mojito and Tsuburana kabosu is the best so refreshing This is a very refreshing drink It’s perfect as a refreshing after-meal snack It seems like it would be great to drink after a bath Maybe it would have been better to drink it after the sauna Ureshino Yadoya was also very good The inn focuses on tea and it was a unique experience It was a unique lodging The hot springs at the inns all advertised themselves as “beautiful skin baths,” and I always wondered, “Is that really true?” But Ureshinno’s was true The spring water is very viscous, and I think many people like Ureshinno Customers who come to Umehibiki also go to Ureshinno Yadoya, and Ureshinno Yadoya’s customers also come to Umehibiki Both have consistently high quality hardware, and they are both great because they have a strong local flavor and offer experiences that can only be had there Is Hita Highball a highball made with that shochu? It uses Hita’s local shochu and Hita’s carbonated water. It doesn’t use whiskey The sake I drink is “Momosuke” from Inoue Brewery I’ll enjoy having this A combination of Momosuke and Hita carbonated water And a highball tumbler made from the famous Hita cedar Everything is filled with Hita It has a strong aroma, but is also very refreshing and easy to drink I bought Momosuke because it is recommended for women too. It is very easy to drink Hita Highball is easy to drink even for those who can’t handle alcohol As I was drinking, I started to feel hungry, so I had a plum pound cake Not too sweet or sour, a taste for adults The pound cake is soft and sweet, with just the right amount of sourness from the plum It’s not too sweet, so as Morry-san said, it has an adult flavor It’s all what I said I didn’t hear the first one Mostly my words Ie don’t copy them! In the end, it’s the same taste you’ll get We found out that neither of our food reports were wrong I just hadn’t heard it Like dinner, there are many drinks that can only be found at this bar This is a rather high-end inn, but the price is still not too high If you stay at a foreign hotel like the Ritz Carlton, you will be charged such a high amount that it will make you feel mentally unstable This is very satisfying! I also soaked in the hot spring in my room at night ♨ The hot spring at night is also the most comfortable You’ll understand if you listen to the sounds, but the lodge is located in the middle of a valley, so all you can hear is the chirping of insects and the babbling of the river What a luxurious space! good night Good morning the next morning Good morning. It’s morning It’s amazing to wake up to a beautiful green valley view The air I breathe outside is full of negative ions and tastes great It’s completely different from the usual moment I wake up in the city No noise from cars or other vehicles can be heard Can you hear the birds singing and the river babbling? It’s a truly beautiful sight, no matter how many times you see it After this is breakfast I’m excited to see what kind of breakfast I’ll have Breakfast is also served in a private room You can enjoy the beautiful view of Hibiki Valley in the morning The breakfast menu is written like this on the menu A lot of food came out on the tray In the middle is grilled fish and red fish pickled in sake lees Salad and yogurt with fruit Deep-fried tofu and soft-boiled eggs are available around here And this is a unique feature. It’s squid shumai with plum It must have been sold as a souvenir in the store And in my right hand I have miso soup and in my left hand I have rice cooked in a pot And the eggs. These special eggs can be enjoyed with the soy sauce on the right This also seems to be an original of Mehibiki In the morning, I enjoy my breakfast while looking at the beautiful Hibiki Valley outside my window Drinks are lined up in the hallway like this Hita Tenryosui and orange juice This is yuzu honey and Kumamoto Farm Milk And it says “our eggs” to be used for rice with raw egg These eggs are made by the JR Kyushu Group On the other side, there is herbal tea from Oyama There are plenty of herbs in this Also, cold barley tea and Yame tea, which I had last night And hot coffee. Takeaway cups are also available Let’s eat First, I’ll have some Kumamoto milk as a wake-up drink It’s delicious as expected! The milk from the Aso Kuju area around here is delicious Let’s eat some fish. This is red fish pickled in sake lees Delicious! It’s baked to perfection lees pickles goes really well with it And this is squid shumai This is delicious! The flavor of the squid is enhanced by the minced meat, and the sweetness of the squid and shumai is complemented by the slight sourness of the plum The sourness is just right. Not too sour The meat is quite densely packed, so it’s very satisfying to eat And this was also consistently delicious! I finished my breakfast The breakfast venue has the following locations: At a place called Asamoya Terrace, chairs and tables are lined up like this This is the breakfast area on the right The view from here is also amazing The view of Hibiki Valley spreads out before you Depending on the season, morning mist is more likely to appear when there is a large difference in temperature between morning and night The view is so fantastic that it is called Asamoya Terrace Since I’m here, I’d like to relax and enjoy some coffee or herbal tea after breakfast Enjoy some local Oyama herbal tea! The atmosphere is great If you come in the fall, you can see the beautiful autumn leaves I’d like to come at that time too A rainbow appeared! Amazing! I thought the weather was gloomy, but I was able to see a rainbow like this I think a rainbow over a valley is a rare sight, so I’m glad I came Some people feel gloomy and unhappy when it rains, but if your heart is pure, a rainbow will appear the moment the rain stops “And there was a line in the song ‘Esola’ by Mr. Children Everyone, no matter how tough things get, if you keep moving forward with a positive attitude, good things will happen Traveling teaches us that too Travel is an investment in yourself Brought to you by Morry from “Rainbow Man” This is the first time I’ve heard of it This is better than I imagined The height of the bath is just right and wonderful It’s amazing to be able to lay your head down and see the Hibiki Valley right in front of you This is a bath like no other I don’t remember much After checking out, we came to the shop “Umeshuzo Oyama” It’s really wonderful here Rather than going to a mediocre souvenir shop, you can experience the charm of Oita by coming here, as the lineup is so extensive I would like to introduce some really attractive plum-related souvenirs that can only be purchased here This is their signature product, “Yumehibiki,” which is aged for three years I also drank this 3-year-old beer at dinner last night This was served during the first toast The three-year-old plum wine on the left was also one I tried in a tasting of three different types of sake This is the plum wine used by ANA What was the difference between these two? This is plum wine made with Oushuku plums, Nanko plums, and raw plum wine This is also recommended by the staff The three-year-aged “Yumehibiki” mentioned earlier is brewed in stainless steel This is a special plum wine called “Yumehibiki” that is aged for a total of five years, including two years in barrels This is listed as the most popular It is a special plum wine that has won the highest gold award for two consecutive years and is also used in the Nanatsuboshi in Kyushu festival It’s amazing how it’s wrapped in a furoshiki This also seems to be popular This plum wine is a blend of the 3-year-old and 5-year-old Nanatsuboshi mentioned earlier, that is, the raw and barrel-aged varieties As the name suggests, this is a premium plum wine that you will never find anywhere else I’d like to buy this as a souvenir to take home There are so many different kinds of plum wine on sale, including some in cute bottles like this one Does this smell like roses? This is the kabosu plum wine I tried yesterday And this is the one-year-aged plum wine that we had for our toast yesterday Hita is famous for Attack on Titan, so there are even bottles with special Attack on Titan labels Since it is used on the Nanatsuboshi, there are also premium bottles from JR Kyushu This is amazake made with plums Amazake with plums And there is also a Vibrato, which was a welcome drink There are so many plum-related souvenirs Ochazuke, this is plum jelly There’s honey here Yuzu honey In Oita Prefecture, around Hita, citrus fruits are also grown in abundance Plums grown by various farmers are displayed from right to left I was surprised at how many different kinds of plums there are Jams from famous Yufuin shops are also available around here And here is the Onta Yaki that was shown at the beginning of the video Onta ware was used during the meal And since bamboo crafts are popular in nearby Beppu, there are plenty of bamboo crafts on display There are also some Kumiko crafts below There are lots of condiments around here too They have yuzu pepper and Oita’s specialty shiitake mushrooms Shiitake mushrooms are lined up all the way to our left There are also plenty of Toriten Senbei (chicken crackers) and other Oita souvenirs and snacks in this area This area is nice too There are Umehibiki coasters and the Hita cedar cups I had at the bar last night It would be nice to buy one of these as a souvenir to use at home They truly value local products, and there are many products made in collaboration with local companies lined up around here There is also plum soap By the way, you can sample plum wine at the bar counter in the back If you come by car, you will need to drive on the day of check-out, so it is best to come to the shop when you check in and enjoy a tasting In that case, you can also try non-alcoholic drinks You can also buy drinks and gelato, so it’s a good idea to stop by and pick up some souvenirs when you’re staying at the inn I put plum puree in the amazake I think sweet vinegar with plums is quite rare This is good Amazake is quite sweet, so I think this drink is easier to drink and has a slight sour taste You are right Amazake itself is very good for your body, but I think it has a sticky aftertaste in the summer It contains plum puree, so it has a refreshing aftertaste and is easy to drink I like this better than regular sweet sake thank you Checked out of the accommodation There are many Oita souvenirs on sale at the nearby Michi no Eki Mizube no Sato Oyama And there is even an Attack on Titan museum in the back! This is one of the spots that Attack Leaving the area around the inn, we headed back to Hita for sightseeing Since I’m here, I’ll stop by a place that’s a must-see for Attack on Titan fans Here we are, Oyama Dam In Attack on Titan, there is a scene where the Titans invade the city and break through this dam I haven’t seen it, but I’m told it was the model for it I looked around and thought it was just an ordinary place, but there were tourists and foreigners walking around It’s a world famous anime It is an impressive dam that is well worth a visit as a tourist spot You can see that the water is gushing out with great force It’s amazing how even with such a big drop, the water flow is calm only in the middle This is a view that can only be seen in Hita, a city with abundant water resources When I climbed up a little, I found this bronze statue This seems to be a famous scene too He has a terrible look on his face. He looks stunned I think this is the look on his face when the giant bursts through the dam ahead and appears This seems to be a popular photo spot He imitates without knowing It’s really good! Returning to Hita city, it was time for lunch We went to a restaurant called Rotir The building itself has a great atmosphere, but the shop itself looks new I’m looking forward to it because it has a very high rating on Google The atmosphere inside is also wonderful! You can enjoy your meal while looking out at the Mikuma River I guess the menu on the far right is the standard menu It says Suikyo Kabaseiro. There are also special editions There are also single-item menu items such as salt-grilled sweetfish under the “recommended specialties” menu I’ll order the “recommended course” The higher one is about 6,000 yen, which is about 1,000 yen more than the single item I ordered earlier, so I’ll order it anyway There is also a luxury course with more items. It costs 8,800 yen As you can see, there is a takeaway menu, so it would be a good idea to stay at a nearby inn and get some takeaway The drink menu has original non-alcoholic cocktails on the top right, and desserts on the bottom right I came by car this time so I couldn’t drink, but I think eel goes well with sake Local liquor lined up Of course there is beer and wine too The first dish of the course, eel bone crackers, was brought out I’ll enjoy having this It’s amazing, it’s so crispy and thin yet still has the flavor of eel I really want to drink beer Hone(born)-Stacy This is the first time I’ve heard of it It’s not Nixtacy, it’s Hone-stacy (Yuzan-san’s pronoun is “Niku (meat)” x “extacy” = Nixtacy) Next came the eel salad. They said it was eel mixed with cucumber It’s delicious! It’s topped with cucumber, ginger, sesame, shiso leaves, etc and is very refreshing There is also eel in it, though in small pieces It refreshes your mouth before the main course of eel rice, and makes you hungry Next came the chawanmushi It’s thick and delicious with the dashi stock! It’s super thick! The shrimp stock is also really good This is Ebi(shrimp)-stacy Everything is “stacy” After Hone-stacy, it’s Ebi-stacy And the next thing that came out was white-grilled fish It was simply seasoned with rock salt, so you could add lemon or wasabi to taste This is amazing! It’s freshly baked Yummy! This is so delicious! The outside is crispy and the inside is fluffy It’s a simple salt-grilled dish, but because the eel is of such high quality, you can really taste the juicy eel itself This may be the most delicious eel I’ve eaten recently This is delicious! I think you should definitely try this white-grilled fish It’s by far the best! Kawa(Skin)-Stacy Kawa-stacy! It seems that Kawa-stacy is from Ebi-stacy from Hone-stacy This is great It’s true, the crispy texture of the skin makes it feel soft and fluffy when you eat it I was moved It’s moving, isn’t it? This is really insanely delicious This is more delicious than the eel I had in Hamamatsu Hita City, Oita Prefecture’s eels have surpassed those of Hamamatsu It’s really, really delicious The main came out This looks very delicious This is an original product of this shop called Kabaseiro The rice is steamed in a bamboo steamer and topped with grilled eel I’m sure the color of this rice is changing And Yuzan-san’s is premium, so there’s a lot of eel You can’t see the rice, it’s all covered I’ll enjoy having this Unlike the white-grilled fish mentioned earlier, this fish is soaked in sauce thoroughly, giving it a rich flavor Isn’t the rice amazing? It’s soaked in plenty of sauce and is very chewy The white-grilled one I mentioned earlier has a crispy exterior, while this one is slightly moist However, the eel is plump, high quality and delicious Personally, I found the shirayaki version to be a new and exciting taste, so I definitely recommend trying it Even though I’m from Oita, I had no idea there was a place in Hita where you could eat such delicious eel And for dessert we had homemade warabi mochi I’ll pour brown syrup over it Super delicious! The mochi and kinako are of high quality This is very satisfying The 6,000 yen course includes eel, which would normally cost around 3,000 to 4,000 yen, so it’s a great deal and the quality is undeniable You can enjoy your meal while looking at the beautiful river view Reservations can be made, so if you want a high-quality eel experience in Hita, be sure to come I recommend it I am leaving Hita City and heading to Ukiha City in the neighboring prefecture of Fukuoka Ukiha City is famous as a fruit kingdom with an abundance of fruit, and in recent years it has been attracting attention with the opening of many stylish cafes and restaurants This is my first time going By the way, I am traveling to Hita and Ukiha this time, and I will be appearing on a YouTube channel called “Travels You Won’t Go” to talk about the charms of Hita and Ukiha, which are little-known tourist spots in Kyushu, so please look forward to my appearance on this channel I’ll put a link in the description as soon as the video is released Yes, I have arrived Sorbecchi de Ukiha I think you can enjoy delicious desserts made with fruit I think there is a fruit field in front of me Is it a grape or something? How do you read that thing you see on the right? Is it pronounced “Shunkoen”? It is written as “Shun ni Hikari ni Sono” (spring, light, garden) It is a facility where you can experience fruit picking, and from here you can see many people enjoying fruit picking even in summer This is a gelato shop It says they are all from Ukiha The tea, green shiso, apricots, walnuts, and raisins are all produced in Ukiha This golden peach sorbet is popular at this time of year It’s certainly rare Olive salt milk is good It says it is made with the highest quality olive oil from Ukiha The gelato menu also has triple There are three sizes to choose from: double, kids, and either a cone or cup Amazing! You can also take it home in bulk They use lots of local fruits and even have the producer’s name on it, so it’s a special gelato The fruits change with the seasons, so the menu will probably change like this Inside the store, there was a flyer like this that listed Ukiha’s recommended sweets cafes Please check it out Of course, it’s impossible to see everything in one visit, but each one seems to have its own unique features And the gelato I ordered was golden peach and green shiso, which I thought were quite unusual The white gelato you see in the background is salted olive oil Golden peach gelato This is sweet and delicious! It has a crunchy texture like gelato, but still has a rich flavor The sweetness of the peach is much stronger than I expected and it’s very delicious And then salt and olive oil This is a new texture It’s an ice cream flavor I’ve never had before I knew that the sweet and salty flavors of salted ice cream would create a good harmony and be delicious The subtle aroma of olives adds to the luxurious taste It’s green shiso You may wonder if ice cream and green shiso really go together so well, but it is delicious I think if you eat this much, you’ll probably get tired of it quickly if it’s just sweet The olive oil and salt flavors, as well as the shiso flavor, help to tone down the sweetness, so even if you order three different types, you won’t get bored of eating them all We just introduced the sake tasting set and plum wine tasting set, but this is also an ice cream tasting set This may be selfish, but I would like to have a small set of 10 different items Ukiha really uses great fruit ingredients, which is why they can make such delicious gelato Ukiha is a treasure trove of materials Next, I’ll go to a roadside station in the city There was a roadside station so I stopped by As the name suggests, this is Ukiha Roadside Station. It is the same as the name of the place The view is very good and amazing This is how it looks like a basin This is a view that clearly shows that the area is surrounded by the majestic mountains typical of Kyushu This service area is on a slight hill There is also a terrace where you can relax and enjoy the magnificent green scenery It’s midsummer and there’s no one outside Unfortunately, video recording is prohibited inside the roadside station I highly recommend this shop as it sells all Ukiha-grown fruit, other produce, and souvenirs I bought this: Amazake made with Pione grapes from Ukiha The sweet sake I had at Umehibiki was made with plums The fruit sandwiches look delicious too. All are from Ukiha Did you know Ukiha City? It’s the kingdom of fruits It is a new hidden spot in Fukuoka, and you can go there on a day trip from the city It is also recommended because it is a nearby town and you can easily visit Hita There was bean paste inside Fresh cream and bean paste The flesh of the mandarin orange was so juicy that it flew away I didn’t know this, but there are more stylish cafes and restaurants than I expected It seems that a talented chef from Fukuoka who wanted to relax in the countryside moved to Ukiha and opened many good restaurants I have heard that they are aiming to become the next Itoshima Today I am staying with Morry-san. I think there are high expectations for Ukiha, so much so that a foreign-affiliated hotel called Fairfield by Marriott Fukuoka Ukiha has been built here This time I was only able to stay for a short time, but I would like to come back again and spend more time here It’s a hidden gem for adults No doubt about it I’d like to come back here in cooler weather to pick fruit This is amazake This is also an interesting flavor. It really lives up to its name Delicious sweet amazake with grape flavor It’s a fruit, so it has a sour taste and is delicious It’s calming after all Itoshima has great ocean views, but the mountain scenery is also amazing Head to the next spot while looking at the fruit fields on both sides I arrived at a place called “Budou no Tane” As far as the eye can see, fruit fields are spread out all around Is this a cafe that has its own farm? Cafes, Japanese sweet shops, pottery shops, and coffee shops are all gathered here together It’s a really nice atmosphere There is water flowing below and a green landscape in front of you This is a cafe called Cafe Saka no Shita It is a restaurant where you can have lunch and fruit parfaits The garden is well maintained and the view is lovely The scent of rice in summer is wonderful I feel like I’m in the countryside As I entered the mountain area from the national highway, a landscape full of greenery suddenly spread out before me Just walking around here slowly gives you a real sense of everyday life and is wonderful There is probably a peach tree in front of you The atmosphere around here is also nice There are some old houses and a farm It’s on sale over there And there is a gallery and a cafe This time I’m going to try the home-roasted coffee at the bottom There is a direct sales store in such a place It contains so many plums and the price of 500 yen seems quite reasonable This contains nothing It’s so popular that it’s all sold out I have the impression that places like this are places where locals shop, but it seems like a lot of tourists shop there too Is that a cafe in the back? As expected, Ukiha has a nice view If you look to your left, you will see a majestic mountain towering in the distance as far as the eye can see Wow, that’s amazing! If you look at the top right corner, it says “Kimono Tanakaya.” There’s a kimono shop in this area too And this building is a coffee shop Zelkova CoffeeI I love coffee It says “High quality coffee from all over the world, served fresh.” This is to be expected Once inside, you’ll see a huge roasting machine! They also sell a lot of coffee beans The cafe area is chic and stylish Like this, the right hand is a roll cake pudding There was also a chocolate pound cake set You can choose the type of beans, iced coffee, etc. on the left I ordered a Kenyan coffee And the pudding looks amazing too It looks jiggly and delicious I’ll enjoy having this It has a refreshing taste without much bitterness It also has an orange and cocoa flavour And then there’s pudding The bitterness of the caramel is nice A very elegant bitterness spreads The smooth pudding and fresh cream are beautifully presented This is definitely a recommended spot in Ukiha And here is a Japanese sweets shop There is a Japanese sweets shop and a pottery shop on the right Both are very atmospheric This was also a charming shop with a wide selection of carefully made homemade Japanese sweets Next, I climbed up the hill to a spectacular spot Amazing! I’ve come up to a hill and there’s a spectacular view to my right And here on the other side there is a shrine Go straight ahead and you will see the torii gate on your right A wonderful atmosphere unfolds before your eyes I could see many torii gates lined up from below, so I think there are other areas with torii gates lined up besides here It is located on a fairly high hill, so you can see the townscape beyond the torii gate There are amazing views that you’ve never seen anywhere else I have seen a torii gate along the seaside when I was traveling in Yamaguchi I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a great view of a mountain from such a high point in the mountain I didn’t know there was a spot like this in Ukiha When you come down under the torii gate, you will see the sign saying “God of Good Fortune.” Like Fushimi Inari Taisha in Kyoto, this is a place to pray for prosperous business, bountiful harvests, and safe travels It’s extremely important I hope that YouTube will prosper as well I hope the channel continues forever It’s really a pleasant walk to be able to enjoy the magnificent view while passing through this torii gate Like Hita, Ukiha is a hidden gem that is not well known nationwide It’s evening, so there aren’t many tourists, but it’s nice that there aren’t any crowds This is amazing! I’ve never seen such a view! As I said before, the torii gates line the ground, not towards the sea, but towards the townscape and mountains in the basin This is my first experience You can see the road continuing straight ahead in the distance It’s nice to be surrounded by greenery and have some fresh air It was a wonderful trip with many new discoveries in the Hita and Ukiha area, in just two days and one night Please go and check it out♪ Please subscribe to my channel and follow me on social media!
