How to cook Tom Yum Goong (prawn) soup recipe | THAIKHUN Thai Street Food
Chef Poomy shows you how to make our delicious Tom Yum Goong (Prawn) Soup we serve daily in our Thaikhun restaurants – a hot and sour Thai soup that goes perfectly with a side of jasmine rice.
Ingredients.
150g Prawn
50g mushrooms
250ml chicken stock
4 pieces of chopped lemongrass
4 pieces of chopped galangal
3 to 4 Kaffir lime leaves
1 to 2 chillies
1 ½ Tbsp of fish sauce
1 ½ Tbsp lime juice
1 tbsp chilli paste,
1 tbsp chopped coriander
Method.
1. Slice the lemongrass, galangal, kaffir lime leaves, mushrooms and chillies into small pieces.
2. In a pan, add your stock and chopped ingredients (except the mushrooms!) and bring to the boil.
3. Add the chilli paste, mushrooms, fish sauce and prawns and bring to the boil again.
4. Add your lime juice last and stir well.
5. Serve in your favourite bowl, garnish with coriander and enjoy Khun!
