ROTI BAKAR PISCOK – Indonesian French toast with chocolate and banana #short #shorts #food

Hello everyone! White breads like rolls, baguettes, croissants, etc., are not part of authentic Indonesian or Asian cuisine in general. Therefore, you’ll rarely find them in bakeries or supermarkets. Even if you do, they’re usually only available in large cities. Bakeries that want to offer them carefully consider who will buy them, how much, and how often – because rice remains the most popular meal in Indonesia, whether for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Toast, on the other hand, or “roti bakar” in Indonesian, is already familiar to most Indonesians, even in small towns and villages. This bread is readily available and is a popular breakfast choice for many Indonesians.

I recently posted a video with a toast recipe – with various berries like strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries. But… fresh berries don’t seem to be so easy to find in Indonesia. And even when you do find them, they’re usually quite expensive.

Therefore, this time I’d like to show you a toast recipe that uses a fruit that’s very common in Indonesia: bananas.

What might seem a little unusual to you is the combination of cheese with sweet ingredients like bananas and chocolate sauce; however, for most Indonesians, this is perfectly normal.
