How to eat natto – top tips

curious about natto and how to eat it here are my top tips first of all you can keep it in the freezer for any time take out the little condiment packets you can save them if you want to use them now just use the lid and slide that little covering and you're going to squeeze it in between to just slide it out it does get stringy so just swirl it around a little bit and put it on that top of the lid face down so that it's not sticking to your hand then put as much or as little of these sauces as you want I actually only put a little bit because I'll be flavoring it with something else but if you want to add more and then mix it until slimy you want it to look like this stringy and slimy I like to add kimchi for additional probiotics plus avocado is delicious I just didn't have it today but this is what it should look like pour it over rice eat it as is would you eat it

Healthy Japanese natto fermented soybeans may be a polarizing love hate dish but here are my top tips on how to eat it.

My favorite topping combo is with kimchi and avocado – how do you open/eat yours?

  1. I know it's not going to hurt me (and will probably help me), but how do I convince my body of that? I just have an aversion and don't know how to get past it. Maybe if I tried a tiny bit in a different dish? Like a 2-3 beans on top of another dish to slowly acquire a taste?

  2. I was going to make my own but they are cheap at the Asian stores. I throw away the condiments because contain wheat and soy, neither of which I eat. I like the idea of adding kimchi. Currently, i add dijon mustard, horseradish and red onions.

  3. i picked up a few little containers of natto the other day out of sheer curiosity, lowkey expecting to hate it bc of the texture and everything i had heard about it being an acquired taste, but to my surprise i really liked it, ive already eaten it all and and am planning on buying more soon haha. but anyway thank you so much for the tip about sliding out the plastic cover, i was just lifting it off the top and some of the natto would always get stuck to it, that’s really smart n i’m gonna try that next time tysm!! <3

  4. I transfer the organic natto to a glass dish, add some white miso paste and a little warm water and mix it; is delicious and I eat this for breakfast! ❤

  5. LOVE Natto. Sometimes I put sarracha in mine, sometimes with sometimes without rice. I tried to make it myself at home… It was a fail but I will try again.

  6. I LOVE natto. I make it myself once a week. Put it on GABA rice and pearl barley and top it with soy sauce, Chinese mustard, and spring onions.
