📍Venice Marco Polo Airport We’re now at Venice Marco Polo Airport. Today we’re flying with Lufthansa, transiting through Frankfurt, and heading to our final destination—Athens! This is our third flight on
our round-the-world business class ticket, right? Yep! And Ajin, this is your first time flying Lufthansa, right? Yeah! We only have a one-hour layover, so I’m a bit nervous. 😅 Tell me about it! [Let’s check in first] A little worried about the short layover💦
※ Frankfurt minimum connection time is 1 hour! But since it’s the same airline, shouldn’t it be fine? Yeah, I think we’ll be okay? Good Morning / Buongiorno I’m flying Lufthansa to Athens via Frankfurt Whoa, 18kg?! 😱
※ Our old suitcase was 16.2kg before it broke. That’s heavier than I thought 😂 I thought it’d be lighter lol That suitcase is heavy lol [Marco Polo Airport has Fast Track, so we breezed through security✨] It was super smooth! Having a dedicated Fast Track for business/first class is great! So convenient! Thank you! Shall we head to the lounge now? It was the Marco Polo Lounge, right? I think so. I heard there’s only one lounge. The morning sunlight feels amazing ✨ Glad the weather’s nice today! Looks like the lounge is upstairs. The airport’s compact, but it’s got some nice brands and shops! Makes sense with all the tourists around. I wonder if the lounge is spacious? Let’s see! I bet it’s crowded though. All airline passengers share the same lounge here. 📍Marco Polo Club Lounge As expected in Italy, there’s a ton of bread! Lots of different baked goods—love it. It’s fun picking from so many😁 This wasn’t here earlier when I checked lol This one— I snagged the very last one 😏 So jealous~ Give me one later, okay? lol Sure 🩷 Let’s try the sandwich first! What is this? There’s a ton of tuna in here. Looks like a tuna sandwich. Oh! There are olives inside too! With the tuna! It’s good! ✨ Really nice accent flavor! The bread’s delicious too. Italy really does bread right! Perfect for breakfast 🤭 Yeah, kind of brunch lol Oh right, since it’s business class… We’ll probably get a meal on board? Better not eat too much now then lol [They had generous portions of salad and fruit too‼️] [Muffins, gâteau au chocolat, croissants, donuts…
so many to choose from 😆] [Personally, I recommend the tuna and olive sandwich 🤭✨] [The airport’s compact, but there’s a relaxing green space with plants, a viewing area, and the lounge had a great vibe! 👍] [After your Venice trip, picking up souvenirs here is a great idea ✨] [Boarding should start soon but…] We’ve got a delay 😭 Our flight’s delayed 😢 Will we be okay? The layover was short to begin with… I think we’ve only got like 50 minutes left 💧 We’ll make it, right? It’s the same airline and we’re flying business class. There shouldn’t be a problem. As long as our bags don’t go missing 😅 Yeah, as long as our luggage arrives safely. Let’s just pray everything arrives safely! 🙏 One thing I like about Lufthansa— they keep you updated by email like this! Real-time updates, right? Look at this— They even emailed me to confirm our luggage was checked in. With the baggage number and tag too. From Venice to Frankfurt, then Frankfurt to Athens. It does give some peace of mind. But at the end of the day, it’s still people handling it. So I’m still a little nervous 😅 This time it’s a short-haul route within Europe, so the flight time is short too. Even in business class, it’s a 3-seat row, with just the middle seat left empty. Honestly, it feels more like an economy seat. Is this even really business class? lol For me, as long as our luggage arrives safely, I’m happy! Yeah, that’s the most important thing! 😆 [Finally boarding now] Still worried about the delay though… let’s see how it goes. Hopefully, we make our connection! I asked the staff just in case, and even if we miss it, they said they’ll help us get on an alternate flight. So I guess that’s a bit reassuring? Yeah, should be okay. Looks like it’s an Airbus. You can tell? The round shape… lol 6A, 6C This way. Yep, definitely feels like an economy seat 😢 It’s just a 3-seat row with the middle one left empty lol So cramped, even though it’s business class. Most intra-Europe flights are like this though. The flight’s only about an hour anyway. And with the empty middle seat, at least we get a bit more personal space. Also, no monitor here either. Oh, there isn’t…! Well, I don’t watch anyway. It’s only about an hour flight. [Having the middle seat empty gives us extra space—nice! 👍] [Ajin is already sleeping before takeoff 🤭] [About 15 minutes after takeoff, it’s meal time ♪] 🍽️ Burrata Cheese Caprese 🍽️ Egg Tart The meal’s here! So happy there’s dessert too ☺️ This is a proper meal! The bread is warm. Everything else is cold though lol Feels like a light meal. It’s packed with cream inside! Mozzarella? Yep, mozzarella! So good 😋 There’s basil too, so it tastes even better together. Delicious! Tomato, cheese, and basil—the perfect combo ✨ Just right for a light meal / Yeah! [The drink cup is super cute ✨] It’s actual ceramic! But since it’s ceramic, it gets really hot because of the heat transfer 😅 NATA!! An egg tart!? Yep, it’s an egg tart! This brings back memories of Portugal 🥹✨ I’ve missed these egg tarts! Can’t believe I’m having one again here 😆 It’s huge! lol So many toppings on it! (cherry jam, cookie crumble, etc.) Alright, let’s give it a try! Speaking as someone who knows the real Portuguese taste— I’ll be judging this strictly 😎 Kinda tastes like apple pie though? lol Is this actually apple pie? It said “Pastel De Nata” on the menu though lol It just said “NATA” actually. Tastes totally like apple pie! lol More apple than egg inside 🤭 There is some custard flavor too, but— Did they put in apple? Maybe? Let me try more. This part here… Yeah, I swear I taste apple… Is my tongue broken? lol But yeah, there is some custard in there too. The crispiness though… Can’t beat the real thing in Portugal. And it’s not warm, right? Yeah, it’s cold. Can’t be helped. Still tasty though! Nice to enjoy that nostalgic flavor again. Really loving it! 👍 [Announcement about gate change] [Looks like we need to take a shuttle bus to get to the terminal…] [Arrived at Frankfurt, the layover stop!] There’s about an hour left until our next flight. Isn’t that just one hour? / The problem is—we have to take a bus 💧 Take the bus, and head straight to the terminal 💦 Let’s power through! 💪 ⏱️ Around 50 minutes remaining [Looks like other passengers are cutting it close too… 🥲] First, we’ve gotta take the bus to the gate. It suddenly got really cold (early September) Fall’s here already. Hope we make our connection 🙏 So nervous… Some people only have a 30-minute layover—worse than us. They must be even more nervous 💦 [The bus is moving extra slow when we’re in a rush 😭] ⏱️ Around 35 minutes left [Everyone on the bus seems to be rushing just like us 😂] Puhahaha / We’re seriously in a hurry 🤣 Alright! Let’s take the stairs!! Let’s go go go—! Gate A11 Come on, let’s go! Aaaaahhhh / Ooooh—! I see something! Wait, maybe we didn’t need to run lol Hahahaha 😆 Aaaah— Here it is! We made it! That was fast lol Wait, let’s double-check the destination. Destination: Athens!! What a relief, seriously! We did it—! Just in time—!! Barely made it 👍 That bus alone took over 15 minutes 💦 I was so stressed out— Did you see everyone running? People were straight-up sprinting lol I was so nervous I couldn’t even talk lol But it all worked out! Thank goodness, really. Now let’s just hope our luggage makes it too. Still a bit worried about the bags 😅 Everyone’s doing connections, so I get the concern. Alright, on to the next flight! [Boarding pass barcode error!!] [Another hiccup…!?] Always messing up lol Scanned the boarding pass from the previous flight 🤣 Was so nervous, my mind went blank. Why were you nervous? lol Well, we were rushing of course lol Yes, I’m a bit of a scatterbrain 😅 Yep, same kind of plane again. It’s exactly the same after all… What a letdown! European flights… Even in business class… (so this is how it is 🥹) 11D, F Oh, this is it. There’s no seat in front of me, so I can stretch my legs fully. Should I switch to that seat? lol It’s the exact same aircraft as before. Makes sense. Of course, no monitor again~ I slept a little. Once I relaxed, I knocked right out 🤭 That seat looks comfy. Perfect for my short legs lol [What’s the in-flight meal this time?] We get to choose the main course! Austriiiaaa~ Ooooohstriaaaa~ They have schnitzel, Austrian style, and quiche. A veggie quiche. Meat or veggie? What do you prefer, Ajin? We had similar schnitzel back in Milan. Time to try the “real” deal! Well, “real” is debatable lol Last flight was only an hour, this one’s around two hours, so they’re serving a nice meal this time. I thought there was no tray table, but here it is! Phew, good! I was wondering how we were supposed to eat lol [Plenty of drink options too ✨] Since we’re on a German airline, I went with beer! But it’s non-alcoholic beer. This one— Beck’s Blue. Is this a famous beer in Germany? It’s got foam too. Looks just like real beer. (Well, of course lol) Let’s take a sip— Aaah— That’s beer! I might get drunk~ 🤣 We earned it after today~ Been running since morning! That was really exhausting. [Caprese makes a second appearance 😆] 🍽️ Austrian-style Butter Schnitzel 🍽️ Sachertorte with Apricot Compote Kinda looks like a hamburger steak! Not quite what I was expecting. Whoa—looks tasty 😋 Wonder how the meat tastes? Ah, hot! It’s hot? It’s delicious. You barely need to chew— it just melts in your mouth. What’s that on the side? This? Is it gnocchi? The menu said pasta though. But it feels like gnocchi, right? Yep, it’s gnocchi. Bon appétit ♪ Dessert time ✨ Looks great! The Lufthansa logo looks so cool. There’s apricot, and maybe chocolate mousse? (※Sachertorte) Looks super sweet, huh? Let’s try them together ☺️ Ah— smells like apricot ♪ Such a sweet aroma! It’s sweet—! That kind of sweetness wakes you right up! Apricot and chocolate make a perfect combo 👍 [Lufthansa even gives chocolate after meals ☺️] There’s chocolate inside. [Starting to see the beautiful Aegean Sea! ✨] After all the chaos, we finally made it to Athens 🇬🇷 safely! Oh, it’s one of those clapping moments 😆 First time I’ve seen passengers clap lol Really? The landing was really smooth. Yeah, totally! First time in Greece! We made it safely—! Oh yeah—! Somehow, we made it! And even our luggage arrived safely. We’re so relieved 😮‍💨 There were delays, and our layover was tight. Honestly didn’t know how it would turn out. I was worried our bags might end up in the wrong container, but they made it safely, thank goodness! So, how was Lufthansa Business Class? Overall, it was pretty satisfying! The crew greeted us with smiles, and they were really friendly. The meals, especially the salads, were delicious. On a long-haul flight, I wonder what the full meal service would be like? Curious to try that someday. The first flight was about an hour and a half, and they served salad, bread, and dessert. The one we just took was about 2.5 hours, we got salad as a starter, and a choice between two main dishes. There was dessert and a variety of drinks too. So the quality really depends on the flight duration. It might’ve been even better on a long-haul route. Maybe with more services or better seating too. But the seat was the same as economy. Just the middle seat was blocked off. Hard to stretch your legs. No monitor either. No amenities either. Can’t be helped— It’s a short-haul European flight. Yeah, it was a short flight. We kind of guessed it’d be like this. And yep, we were right 🤣 Exactly lol So for intra-European business class… Don’t expect too much. With this level of service, even economy would’ve been fine. Right?! lol The best part was our luggage made it! lol That’s what made me happiest! 😆 Just the fact that we arrived safely— both us and our luggage! That’s the biggest relief. It’s our first time in Greece. I feel like the vibe will completely change now. We spent a month in Italy, and now we’re in a new country. It’s exciting and nerve-wracking. A mix of feelings. Even the letters look unfamiliar. I thought it was just the alphabet, but it’s totally different. Feels like math symbols lol I’m excited! ✨ We don’t even know how to say “thank you” or “hello” yet— Totally clueless right now. Time to learn some phrases!
