Ingredients:

For the Shrimp:
– 1 lb (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
– 1 tbsp olive oil
– 1 tsp paprika
– 1 tsp garlic powder
– Salt and pepper, to taste
– 1 tbsp butter

For the Alfredo Sauce:
– 2 cups heavy cream
– 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
– 3 cloves garlic, minced
– 4 tbsp unsalted butter
– Salt and pepper, to taste
– 1/4 tsp nutmeg (optional)

For the Pasta:
– 12 oz fettuccine pasta
– 2 cups broccoli florets

Instructions:

1. Cook the Pasta and Broccoli:
– Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
– In the last 2-3 minutes of the pasta cooking time, add the broccoli florets to the boiling water with the pasta.
– Drain the pasta and broccoli together, reserving about 1/2 cup of the pasta water.

2. Prepare the Shrimp:
– While the pasta is cooking, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
– Season the shrimp with paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
– Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, until the shrimp are pink and cooked through.
– Add 1 tablespoon of butter to the shrimp and stir until melted and the shrimp is coated. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

3. Make the Alfredo Sauce:
– In the same skillet, melt 4 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.
– Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
– Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.
– Gradually whisk in the Parmesan cheese, stirring continuously until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
– Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg (if using). If the sauce is too thick, you can add some of the reserved pasta water to thin it out.

4. Combine Everything:
– Add the drained pasta and broccoli to the Alfredo sauce in the skillet, tossing to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce.
– Add the cooked shrimp on top and gently toss again to combine.

5. Serve:
– Transfer the Fettuccine Alfredo with Shrimp and Broccoli to serving plates.
– Sprinkle with additional Parmesan cheese and serve immediately.

Tips:
– You can add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice over the shrimp before serving for a bright, fresh flavor.
– For a bit of spice, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the shrimp while cooking.
