Guy Fieri’s Flavortown: Chili Cheese Dog Loaded Tots Review

hey guys welcome to another one CH review today I’m going to try this guy Ferry’s flavor town this one is the chili cheese dog loaded tots it is potato tots potato tots huh um sorry it’s called potato tots is what we always call them potato tots and slice hot dogs smothered in a beef chili and nacho cheese sauce so it looks It looks interesting um there’s the hot dogs there’s the tater tots and there’s the the other stuff so this is frozen 9.5 o 269 Gams bought it at Walmart it was $5.95 but about average for these meals honestly um 520 calories for the meal there’s your other info if you want it it says welcome to the ultimate flavor toown food fantasy combining all American Classics this ball has it all juicy hot dogs tasty potato tots smothered in a rich all beef chili and super melty nacho cheese um I do not see directions on anything else but the microwave so just to let you know uh so we’re going to lift the film Edge to vent microwave for 2 minutes lift film stir gently and microwave two more minutes remove the ball and let it sit for 1 minute so two stir and two not bad um no pull tabs got a chance of paper cut I think the plastic is getting stuck at the bottom of the balll so that’s what it looks like so I’m going to take one of these edges it’s really big plastic um I’m going vent it right there and get it in the microwave and I’ll be back right so here it is out of the microwave you can tell my sauce is a little thinner on that side it got a little Browner but it do bother me any I like the brown bits of cheese the potatoes the tater tots there’s no crunchy they’re literally falling apart that’s how soft they are they’re just it’s basically potatoes at this point shredded potatoes they could have probably put shredded potatoes in here going to get this chili over here a little bit too so I’m going to let this cool off there’s no way of keeping this all solid there’s just no way the potatoes are going to break up um that’s just how they are in the microwave so I’m going to let this cool off for a minute take it over the table be right back I’ve said this before in the past but I always love the way something looks in reality to the box so that’s the Box um the tater tots look really crispy you can see hunks of cheese and stuff like that in there and uh yeah there you go you can see the Hun of cheese and all that stuff um it’s never going look like that for first of all your tater tots are in the microwave they weren’t even crunchy to begin with they were look like they were just Frozen po tato tots um they’re never going to crisp up like that cuz they’re being in the microwave there there’s no way um and once you tell it me to stir it after the first two minutes it’s not going to have these hunks of cheese and stuff laying on top so it’s just it’s just funny how marketing from Production videos and pictures and then the reality is just so different from each other but anyway I got hot dogs I got um tots that are all coming apart and I got some peppers and there sauce and cheese all in there it’s very smokey let me try one of those hot dogs by itself the hot dog almost tastes like sausage and they’re pretty good size too I mean they do have the texture of hot dogs but they’re they’re actually a really good quality hot dog they’re not those um kind of like cheap mushy hot dogs these are a firmer texture they’re big round as well um I’m wondering what has that Smoky flavor is it the I don’t want to get any more hot dogs let me get um let me get some of the tater tots and the chili I think it’s the chili that has the smokey or it could be the nacho cheese too um something in there has a a real Smoky flavor which is really nice I like it the TT’s definitely turned into more of a um shredded potato texture because they all came apart they broke up into these shredded potatoes which again is not bad but they could have bypassed the tots thing I guess they were going for you know something you’d buy at the the ball game or something you know T tots or hot dogs or chili dogs whatever um but yeah the the T tots they could have just started with shredded potatoes and called it shredded potatoes and hot dogs but that wouldn’t have sounded as good but that’s ultimately what they ended up being is shredded potatoes which again I don’t have a problem with it the potato have a really nice texture they’re very good and tender um they’re not undercooked or anything like that so they they’re really nice just know there they’re not crunchy at all um actually nothing in here is crunchy it’s nothing uh there’s not a whole lot of texture overall the potatoes and the cheese of course are very very soft um the hot dogs does have a little bit of chew kind of like a hot dog does um that’s a little bit firmer but yeah the overall texture is nothing there’s nothing crunchy in here there’s nothing uh really browned or baked or anything it’s just um overall kind of mushy won’t say mushy softer texture with those hot dogs so that that’s what you’re getting and again the um TTS has a very small shred so they the potatoes are really short they’re really small um which is nice cuz some most shredded potatoes are longer shreds you know like bigger hunks of potatoes bigger Longer pieces of potato I like it that the T tots are smaller pieces so that’s one difference for sure um so texture wise I like everything in here nothing wrong with texture at all flavor-wise I like the flavor of it you really do get a smokiness from the chili um you get the potato flavor from the potatoes the hot dogs have a hot dog flavor but it doesn’t really it doesn’t really stand out cuz the hot dog’s probably the least flavorful thing in the batch the cheese um I think definitely adds to the flavor profile but it doesn’t like stand out as oh that’s a really good cheese they could have honestly given me um the cheese the chili and the tater tots and left the hot dogs out completely and would have liked it just as good because the hot dogs really don’t do much for it honestly um there are quite a few in there but the as far as flavor goes it doesn’t really add much texture-wise they’re okay it’s not like they’re um you know adding anything a lot to texture I guess it gives you something more to chew on than the just the potatoes and the chili and stuff but um yeah overall my favorite parts of the chili potatoes and the cheese so um so that I would have been fine with those the chili is not SP spicy at all it’s no there’s no tingle in the back of your throat that I get at least there’s no tingle there’s not a really strong like chili powder flavor or um Spice in there there’s nothing really to to really be spicy and I mean maybe if you were really really really sensitive to spicy food or any kind of seasonings this might bother you but I can’t imagine it’s very very mild um and everything else has a really good flavor too so yeah I I like it quite a bit um I’m going to give it you know I’m going to give it a four and a half I really do like it it’s really good I like the textures I like the flavors um there’s nothing wrong with this the only thing like I said they could have done differently is just left the hot dogs out completely I would have been would have been fine with that and the flavor is really good replace the hot dogs with more another potato tot or something that would have been fine with me but I’m going to give it a 4 and 1/2 definitely good a five would have been a little bit more um more of a chili powder for flavor for me cuz it is a chili dog so I would have liked a little bit more chili powder and a little bit more heat in there like a little bit more spice but beyond that um it’s it’s really good so definitely worth trying out if you see them in your Walmart hope you enjoy this video thanks for watching [Applause] [Music]
