初めてのマテ貝採り、限界に近づきつつある

[Music] Oh man, got really destroyed. Hey guys. So, we’re headed to Fort Stevens right now in Oregon near Atoria. We’re going to do some razor climbing. I know this is different. It’s not crabbing, but super excited to do it cuz never done it before. Um, her razor clams are delicious. They’re great and they have a lot of meat. So, I’m all for learning new things and always out foraging uh seeing what we can get. So, stay tuned, guys. [Music] All right, guys. So, I got these Bass Stash waiters that I’ve used for the second time. Going to be for the second time. Very heavy duty. Um, I didn’t give you guys a verdict last time, the first time I use them, but so far so good. They’re super sturdy soles, super thick. Um, they are a little bit rigid, so did end up with some bruising on my lower leg, but hey, no leaks. That’s the most important part. So, I’m doubling up on socks today. Hopefully get on some razor clams for the first time. All right. Oh yeah. Very rigid. Oh yeah. Almost like I’m walking in a cast or something. All right. That was a struggle. All right. And when wearing waiters, always remember to wear your your waiter belts. So if you get swept or if you fall down, your waiters don’t fill up immediately with water. Make sure it’s nice and tight. So that way if it does fill in, they fill in a lot slower rather than have a big gaping hole. All right. All right, let’s go. All right, so we’re making our way to the surf right now. We’re going to be using Murf’s Claminator, dubbed one of the best clam guns that you can get. Uh has a vent valve on the side for effortless pulling. So that way you’re not pulling the entire weight of the sand. Kind of a lot easier to pull out without the suction. Uh super nice. I’ve heard a lot of good things about this clam gun and I’m super stoked to use it and man, first time clamming for razor clam. So, all right guys, stay tuned. All right, so what we’re looking for is kind of like a circular type of volcano shape on the surface of the sand. We’re hunting Let’s see if we can find it. I’m a rookie, so if you guys see it before I do, point it out and tell me how many I missed. Is this one right here? Let’s see. Nope. False alarm. All right, guys. I’m not seeing any yet. Oh, there we go. Here’s one. There’s one right here. So, I finally found one. It’s going to be right here. Yeah, it’s going to be right here. It’s going to be my first one. So, Oh, don’t you see that right there? It’s going to be right here. So, I’m not going to lose it this time, guys. I got it right over it and I go straight down. Heat. Heat. What? There we go. All right, my first one. Oh my god. My first one ever, guys. I was like, I knew I saw it. Oh, I’m so happy. Oh my god. Oh my god, guys. My first one. Yeah. So, this is what you’re looking for right there. A little small little dimple. All right. So, this is it. Just give it a little wiggle back and forth. Hit it again. All right, we’ll hit it again. And I re reach down in the hole. I bet you’ll feel Nope. Nothing yet. You got one. Let’s see if it’s in there. No. They’re pretty deep. So, like send it down once, send it down twice right away. And if you don’t feel it crunch down in the hole, okay? Cuz they they retreat for him. Oh, get him. There we go, guys. All right. Look at that. Bam. Hit it. Oh, yeah. All right. Woohoo. Yeah. Oh man, look at this giant. Oh, that’s so cool. Oh, man. Wow. All right. Here’s one right here. Oh. Oh, I heard it. I think I heard it. Oh, yep. Here we go. Oh, completely destroyed. Yep. It was about right here somewhere, but I lost it because the tie keeps going back and forth and it washed away my hole. But it was right here. So, trying to see where it is. Let’s see if we get lucky. Oh, the W. It washed it away. I had two holes right here. Yeah. I don’t even know where it is. It was like somewhere around here. I’m just guessing right now. Oh, sand worm. Yeah, dude. That’s such good perch bait. Woo! Look at that. Oh yeah. Look at this very good perch bait. Oh, nasty little thing. This like perch crack right here though. These things are gnarly. Very alien like. There we go. Oh, yep. Felt the crunch. There we go. All right, there we go. There we go. There we go. Woo! Oh, yeah. Yeah. All right. All right. There we go. There we go. Hey, guys. We’re going to go ahead and count. See how many clams we got for a first try. Oh man, got really destroyed. I got one. Uh, one 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14. Oh, one shy of limit. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14. All right, we got 14. We’re missing one. All right, Todd’s coming up. I don’t know if we could pull a first time all limit, but we’ll try. Is it this one right here, right? I have no clue. It feels squishy still, so it’s not dried out. Yeah. This is going to be the one. You got to give it a little back and forth shake, you know. Okay. Heat. What the hell? All right, guys. So, we just got finished clamming. Got close to my limit. Got 14 razor clams out of 15. Uh, not bad for a first time. Really glad Billy was able to teach me, show me how to catch clams. I’m really excited to try them out. I heard that they taste amazing.
