[ホイアンVlog]DAY2|幻想的なランタンの灯りに包まれて🏮✨川沿いで過ごす特別なディナー🍽️
Good morning. It’s a little drizzly, but unfortunately the weather is gloomy… On the second day of our stay, we head to the restaurant for breakfast. We ate at “Tha Cham,” a restaurant in the main building. The building is bright and spacious, with sunlight streaming in. We were given a window seat with a great view. There’s even a kids’ play area! Great for families with kids! In addition to Vietnamese cuisine, they offer a wide selection of Japanese, Western, and Chinese dishes. We also enjoyed tropical fruits like mango and rambutan. They even had banh mi! The sky is brightening…⛅️ Let’s eat! Vietnam is home to many Korean tourists, so the banh mi has a spicy flavor that Koreans love . The freshly baked French bread smells wonderful! It was crunchy and delicious, and we even had a hearty dessert…♡ The panna cotta had a rich flavor…! We had a second helping afterwards♡ After our meal break, we took a dip in the private pool. The cloudy sky suddenly cleared up! We bought a new US Coast Guard-certified children’s life jacket-style arm ring for this trip. It’s highly buoyant, fits even small children well, and provides a sense of security and stability. It was a great purchase! Another great feature is that it doesn’t require inflation, is easy to put on, and can be used right away. More details are listed in the description! Be sure to check it out! Palm trees separate the villas, ensuring privacy . We walked across the lawn to the hotel’s large pool. We arrived at the pool bar and ordered a tropical cocktail. My husband ordered a Vietnamese beer called “Hu Da.” Thank you! We headed to Hoi An Old Town. The Old Town is about a 20-minute drive away, down an alley off the main road. We visited a famous restaurant in an alley across from the Hoi An Museum. “Quang Cao Lau Balay” is a restaurant located in a back alley about a 10-minute walk from the Old Town, serving a wide variety of Hoi An cuisine. The walls are lined with photos of celebrities and people from around the world. There are no Japanese signs, but the photos make it very easy to understand. White Rose is a steamed dumpling made of thin rice flour dough wrapped around a shrimp paste. It’s named “White Rose” for its white rose-like appearance and has a soft, not-too-chewy texture. We dipped it in a fish sauce called “Nuoc Mam” ! Mmm! (Delicious!!) – Chewy! – Delicious! Oh, this is delicious! – The fried onions are great! Fried wontons (Hoanh thanh chien) go perfectly with the crispy texture of the fried onions. This dish is made by topping fried wontons with ingredients such as pork, shrimp, and bell peppers stir-fried with tomato sauce. It’s not spicy and is easy to eat. The crunchy texture of the well-fried wontons is appetizing…! The crispy skin and the ingredients, which taste similar to ratatouille, are a perfect match! Enjoy it like a snack – it makes you want a beer! Try changing the flavor with the seasonings – try dipping them in – Oh! – It was even more delicious with a sweet and spicy sauce similar to gochujang . Hoi An Old Town is home to many intriguing backstreets, and it’s like exploring a back alley! The excitement of my childhood is brought back to life at Bale Well restaurant, a long-established hideaway restaurant tucked away in an alleyway. This is a place where you can taste authentic Hoi An traditional cuisine all in one place. I stopped by because I heard their banh xeo is particularly delicious. The menu only has one set course meal (VND140,000) (approximately 788 yen) . Vietnamese-style okonomiyaki, Bánh xèo, is characterized by a yellow batter made from rice flour mixed with coconut milk and turmeric. It is baked with ingredients such as shrimp, pork, and bean sprouts. Normally, they only offer set menus, but this time they were served banh xeo as a single dish. I was surprised at how much it was, even as a single dish…! – Amazing! – There was a lot – On this rice paper, – Place this banh xeo wrapper, – Add vegetables, – Dip in the sauce – Let’s eat! Hoi An style banh xeo is a small, palm-sized type that is characterized by its light texture and subtle use of turmeric. The local style is to wrap it in thin rice paper, roll it with herbs and cucumber, and eat it with a special sweet and sour sauce (nuoc cham). We had Vietnamese kimchi with pineapple – yum – delicious – oh, it’s spicy! – Lightly pickled… with pineapple inside – Slightly spicy Vietnam is the world’s second largest producer of coffee beans, and the world’s largest producer of Robusta beans. Vietnamese coffee is made using Robusta beans, which have a strong bitter taste and low acidity, and is characterized by a sweet and rich flavor when condensed milk is added. There are many variations, and it is enjoyed in many different ways in Vietnam. Some of the most popular are “egg coffee” topped with whipped egg yolk, coconut-flavored “coconut coffee,” and salted “salt coffee.” You can also enjoy unusual drinks such as yogurt coffee and avocado coffee. Hoi An, a port town in central Vietnam, is a historic town that dates back to the Champa Kingdom. The old town, which once flourished as a Japanese town, It was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999. The Old Quarter is lined with houses built approximately 100 to 200 years ago. Many valuable buildings remain, including beautiful traditional wooden houses that blend Chinese and Vietnamese architectural styles. Even within the Chinese-style architecture, various architectural styles coexist, creating a nostalgic townscape that could be said to be unique in the world. I ordered coconut coffee and salt coffee. Coconut coffee: A smoothie made from coffee, coconut milk, cow’s milk, and condensed milk. It has a slightly sweet and refreshing taste. – Delicious! – Isn’t it a little strong? – Maybe I should mix it in, coconut. – Ah. – This is salt. – Can I mix this in too? – Of course, salt coffee. The coffee is topped with whipped cream with salt. The saltiness exquisitely brings out the sweetness of the sugar and milk, creating an addictive taste. – Even when mixed… it’s… so… strong…! – Hahaha. – But it’s delicious! – I see. – Oh, I see. It’s not mixed, but this … It’s so strong! – Stir like this – Stir and drink until mixed, just right – Delicious! – Mmm! – It’s so delicious! – It’s so delicious! The quaint scenery that spreads out below is Hoi An, a Vietnamese tourist city that retains the atmosphere of an exotic, nostalgic ancient capital. Famous restaurants, cafes, and shops line the main street of Hoi An Old Town, Tran Phu Street . The building walls are all a refined yellow, and countless lanterns overhead add color. While strolling through the beautiful, exotic streets, you can enjoy an atmosphere where various cultures blend together. The town is vibrantly colored with plants and flowers unique to the tropics, and the scenery is picturesque no matter where you look. We have arrived at Hoi An Market, the largest market in Hoi An. Hoi An Market, one of the symbols of the ancient capital, can be found at the end of a straight walk along Tran Phu Street from the Covered Bridge to the Fujian Assembly Hall. The market is made up of two buildings and is divided into an indoor and outdoor area. You can enjoy Vietnamese cuisine indoors, and outside, a variety of food products are sold, including meat, fish, vegetables, fruit, and daily necessities. It is also a place that supports the lives of local people, and you can get a glimpse of the real Vietnam . There were stalls selling miscellaneous goods. In Vietnam, when you buy something that does not have a price tag, bargaining is inevitable because there is no set price. This may seem like a bit of a hurdle, but if you have some understanding of the prices of things sold in Vietnam, bargaining becomes easier. They are told with the assumption that you will be able to negotiate a discount, so they do not mean any harm. The most important point is to enjoy the feeling of “haggling.” Asking prices on the spot and enjoying bargaining is one of the joys of traveling to Vietnam . When you visit a Vietnamese market, Be sure to try negotiating the price! These pots combine enamel-finished ceramics and rattan. I decided to buy a few as souvenirs of my trip and ended up paying half the price they initially offered. Hoi An Market, brimming with cultural charm, is open from 6am to 8pm. This quintessentially Vietnamese scene offers a glimpse into Vietnamese culture. Why not stop by during your Hoi An sightseeing trip? At dusk, the Old Town is adorned with colorful lanterns. The Thu Bon River in Hoi An City, Quang Nam Province, is nicknamed the “Mother River” for its rich alluvial soil and abundant fish for local fishermen. Known as the mighty river of Quang Nam and Da Nang, the Thu Bon River flows through the rugged mountains west of Quang Nam and into the fertile fields. Along the way, the river has left many traces on the local community. Hoi An has left a glorious mark on Quang Nam culture, characterized by the ancient town of Hoi An and the My Son Holy Land. Even after its prosperity as an international trading port declined, the townscape remained, and to this day, it conveys the prosperity of that time. Located on Nguyen Thai Hoc Street, this long-established restaurant offers a spectacular view along the Thu Bon River. There is an open terrace on the second floor, from which you can see the beautiful Thu Bon River. At night, the yellow building is lit up, and the reflection on the Thu Bon River creates a truly magical scene. Spinach and pork mushroom dumplings: Juicy dumplings wrapped in a chewy skin with spinach kneaded into them. The rich pork filling is exquisite, and the inside is filled with juicy filling…♡ Fried chicken spring rolls. The crispy skin is mouthwatering and addictive. The Thu Bon River is at its most captivating at sunset. One of the town’s most beloved traditions is the Hoi An Lantern Festival. The Lantern Festival is held on the 14th day of each lunar month, on the night when the moon is at its roundest and brightest. The full moon is considered a sacred time in Vietnamese culture, a time to connect with ancestors. Lighting lanterns is a way to remember deceased loved ones and pray for a bright future. The festival reflects the spiritual values of the Vietnamese people, honoring and expressing gratitude to ancestors and praying for harmony and good fortune. Dozens of glowing lanterns floating down the river create a stunning sight on the water’s surface and a quiet, spectacular moment. We stopped by a cafe on Tran Phu Street. The store offers a variety of products, including coffee beans, tea, chocolate, and snacks. After purchasing the coffee beans, we head to the bar inside the hotel . – Here we are at the bar. Cheers! – Ah! – Ah! – Delicious! – Delicious! What a coincidence. Lol – We’re so synchronized! – After all, it’s a tropical country, so let’s go with some delicious fruits – Okay! – Yeah, – Mango, pineapple, and passion fruit, – What do you think ? – Let’s go! – I like the scent of a mojito – The mint scent is nice – It’s spicy ! – It’s really spicy! – Hehe, lol – My straw’s clogged… lol – See! It’s going to clog! – There’s too much fruit – Ah, delicious! – Oh, this… I thought the choice was spot on – How’s it? Is it delicious? – Um… it’s not too sweet… – A sweet cocktail – A mojito might be the answer – A journey immersed in the traditions, aesthetics, and tranquility of Vietnam A peaceful yet vibrant escape, full of poetry and spirituality
