Hanoi’s New Roasted Pork Banh Mi Spot You Need to Try

One of my favorite Banh Mi shop in Da Nang has finally opened up a new store in Hanoi. Their specialty is succulent roasted pork belly that is slow roasted over coals in large clay pots. It’s unbeatable in flavor and freshness in my opinion, and they have a nice sauce that adds even more yumminess to the total package.

This shop is not in the Old Quarter, but it’s well worth visiting if you are serious about your Banh Mi hunting and you want to experience a little bit of local life outside of the tourist area.

Banh Mi TIP: I always order extra meat at Ong Phu Dat because you can never have too much roasted pork belly. I suggest you use google translate to ask for extra meat and show them 40,000 VND when you order. The regular sandwich only costs 25,000. So that should do the trick!

  1. I just had my first crispy pork Bahn Mi in Houston yesterday. I can only imagine how much better the clay pot roasting improves the flavor.
