Tom Yum Goong Nam Khon Recipe (Creamy Style) ต้มยำกุ้งน้ำข้น | Thai Girl in the Kitchen

In this video, let’s go through Tom Yum Goong recipe together!
One of the most popular and beloved Thai soups that is so easy to make at home.

There’re actually 2 styles of Tom Yum Goong.
1.) The clear soup version : ‘Tom Yum Goong Nam Sai’
2.) The creamy version : ‘Tom Yum Goong Nam Khon’ which is what we’re making in this video.

Let’s have a look what we ingredients we need.

📒Recipe: Tom Yum Goong Nam Khon ต้มยำกุ้งน้ำข้น | Thai Girl in the Kitchen

Ingredients:

– 500g. Shrimps
– 70g. Oyster mushroom**
– 60g. Lemongrass
– 60g. Shallots**
– 60g. Galangal
– 5-6 Kaffir Lime Leaves
– 1-2 Cilantro roots**
– 15g. Cilantro
– 15g. Culantro**
– 10g. Dried chili
– 10g. Bird eyes chili
– 1 Liter Water
– 2 tbsp. Roasted chili paste
– 5 tbsp. Fish sauce
– 150 ml. Evaporated milk or coconut milk
– 5 tbsp. Lime juice

**NOTE:
■ The choice of mushroom is yours. Ideally straw mushroom is the most popular for Tom Yum (and personally my most favorite! But unfortunately I couldn’t find it where I live). You can use oyster mushroom, Shimeji mushroom, button mushroom or any other neutral flavor mushroom.

■ Shallots can be substituted with onion.

■ Cilantro roots : This ingredient gives so much aroma to the broth. However if you don’t have, you can use cilantro stems.

■ Culantro or ‘sawtooth coriander’ is optional. Good to have it for extra aroma but if not, totally fine to leave it out.

■ The amount of chili is your choice. If unsure, try add a little bit by bit or add it separately in your serving bowl. Remember you can always make it more spicy but it’s difficult to fix it when it’s too spicy.

  2. Kitchen girl in Thai , can we use dried small shrimps ( 10mm long ) . Regarding your dish can we fry the aroma veg and add liquids later .
